Do Solo Ads Work For Services Businesses

Hello Everyone, I am new to IM and very interested in learning from some of you guys and gals.

I have a service business (Graphic Design) and I am about to relaunch my new website in a week or so. I have been putting together my initial attack plan and wanted to test out solo ads as one of my strategies. I have searched high and low for an answer to the question "Do Solo Ads Work For Services Businesses" and can not seem to find one.

If they do work, what strategy would you use to convert click throughs and do you now of any solo ad provider that can help me accomplish this task?

Thanks in advance for you answers!!!

Thanks for the advice! I will also be using FB PPC as well. I have been running and testing FB ads for about a year for likes a couple of pages that I manage and have gotten pretty good at them. (normal .01 to .02 per click). I have very little training on Google Adwords and "Graphic design", "Logo Design" etc. are very competitive keywords. As of right know I am trying to each myself keyword research.

I like the concept of Solos to help build a targeted list quick for my graphic design company, so I can send offers on a regular basis.

You can test a few solo ads - or possibly pay for a smaller ad
in a business email broadcast, in amongst other advertisers.

From experience, it's important to make an attractive offer
in the email, along with a dedicated landing page for that offer.

    Hope this helps.

If you do banner design then you could give away a free report on media buying and offer your services to your subscribers in the backend.

That's just an example, there's dozens of variations you can use with this method. Just make sure you give away a free report which would require your services.

Great Example!!! I was thinking about what my give away could be so I began writing down some ideas earlier. I was thinking about a 5 to 10 page ebook about "brand your small company", or "marketing you small company to large businesses". Then offering a discount on design services.

Seeing that start up, and small companies are in my target market.

What kind of design work do you do most? What kind would you like to do most?

We focus alot on logo design, CID's, brochures, and websites. (logos primarily) Over the years, I have found many small companies tend to go the DIY route with printed and digital marketing collateral and wanted to be a resource that could provide them with education and a "leg up" so to speak, without killing their pockets.
