Outgrown My GoDaddy Windows Shared Hosting Plan - Where Next?

Hi all,

I'm getting a lot of 503 (Service Unavailable) errors with my sites on GoDaddy. It's affecting ALL my sites, so my guess is I'm being throttled in terms of server resources. They come back when I restart the Application Pool.

So I wondered what the next step up is from a shared hosting plan?

I suppose I could buy a second GoDaddy hosting plan, and split my sites between plans.

I did look at VPS, but I use a fair bit of bandwidth (1-2Gb a day) so the unlimited bandwidth shared hosting plans offer is great.

I don't think I'm ready for a dedicated server.

Other hosting companies are an option, but there are so many I don't know where to start .

If anyone can recommend other mid-range hosting plans, I need ASP.NET 4.5, 1Gb MySQL databases, lots of bandwidth and the ability to use web services.

I'll add at this point that I've generally been pretty happy with GoDaddy's Windows hosting. The only no-no's I've had are running Wordpress on it, or using MVC 5 (it's too new).

IMPORTANT: Before you reply, I'm talking about Windows (IIS/ASP.NET 4.5) hosting, NOT Linux/Unix. Moving to LAMP is NOT on the table .

Thanks - I've seen a few hosting companies listed on the WF as well (in the hosting section).

Thanks again TelZilla - Arvixe have a pretty good offering.

Incidentally, if anyone else is having hosting reliability woes then this site is amazing:

And it's completely free as well.

When I encountered bandwidth problems, I just moved the content to Amazon's S3 servers.

This way, my front end, or website can continue to reside on its original host, but the content I supplied (like video) which eats up most of the bandwidth was moved offsite.

Now, I only pay what I use.

Well I tried signing up to Arvixe but after 2 days and a load of hassle...

    Computer says no.

Apparently because I use a VPN to access the Internet these days they don't want me as a customer. So after all the hassle of signing up they refunded my hosting fees.

Anyway, at least they have support that you don't need to phone up, even if their policies are too rigid.
