I have shiny object syndrome... Can anyone help me please?

This is my opinion.

If anyone has been at it over a year, and is not making money, they are doing something wrong. YOU have identified what many suffer from.

There are so many templates, so many models, so much success which can be found right here, it is a constant amazement to me why people are so stubborn about it.

In another thread I detailed how to get started for free. ANYONE can start for free. But, they have to know where they are going.

Six months to 2k a month is doable. That would be 500 a week and 100 a day for the five work days. EVERY one of the things you mentioned could do it for you because it is doing it for others.

You are right about the problem too....FOCUS or rather the lack of it.

A little thought about doubt.

Doubt is the shadow of our fear.
Confidence is the reflection of our experience.
ACTION is the revelation of our faith.

You need to take small quick steps of action and get a little success as fast as possible...then build on that.

What to do? It doesn't matter. Affiliate income could do it for you.
Creating and/or acquiring a product could do it for you (if you learn how to sell what you create or acquire).

Copywriting is a much needed service, could do it for you.

You need to PLUNGE in to one thing, anything...for a 2 week period. Not for a year, or months but for the next two weeks...the next 14 days...

Choose something and be singular about it. Ignore everything that is not related to the ONE thing.

ACT on it. ACT on it for 2 weeks. 14 days. FOCUS on it.

You overcome long term "Shiny Object" syndrome by short term FOCUS on one thing.

Give it a try, you might amaze yourself.

Since you've been researching for over a year now, it's time to pick one business model and start building.

Yes, it's possible, but you must be willing to get rid of all distractions for those 6 months (12 months is better) and be prepared to work your a** off.

I'm amazed that you still have all these questions after spending a year of researching.

The first step to starting any business is to get clarity on what you really WANT to accomplish and WHAT you are interested in.

From there you'll need to identify who your target buying audience will be and what their main problems / wants / challenges / needs are. Use that to identify a potenial market, then you can narrow it down to a niche or a micro-niche.

From there you'll need to figure out what kind of product and/or service you'll need to address their main problems / wants / challenges / needs.

After that you'll need to figure out which distribution channels you're going to use to reach them. SEO? Paid advertising? Free publicity? Paid publicity? Self-publishing? Etc.

Do not quit your job until you've doubled your income, have at least 12 months of living expenses saved up, have your retirement plan in place (and funding at least monthly), and have adequate insurance.

I tell everyone the same thing, what ever dream you chase, you need income to do it, so get a meaningless job with nice cash flow BARTENDING for example, make cash tips at night and pick up drunk chicks (or dudes if you're a chick or gay).

Then all day you can chase your dreams.

Learn how to do all the tech stuff to even try to do IM.

Learn how to golf and try to get on a tour.

Learn how to do whatever your dream is.

But first, make sure you have a nice cash flow to chase your dreams.

BARTENDING is a nice cash flow for youngsters not yet in a career or business.

I think this is the easiest way to start. Find a niche you're interested in and then find an affiliate program for that niche. Then you can start promoting and earning money right away with their proven products.
You can always build from there and, when ready, create and sell your own thing.

There are SO many different opinions and methods out there so people end
up getting bogged down by all the details.

And then you've got those who don't want to FAIL so end up not even trying.

The only method that can almost guarantee REPEAT incomes and scalable incomes
too is to...

...BUILD your own lists.

That's it.

But of course it's SO EASY to get lost online when you see someone saying
it doesn't work or that traffic method didn't work for me etc etc.

The only way to really answer those questions is to TAKE ACTION.

Even if it hopeless at the beginning.

Even if people laugh at you at the beginning and you end up sending out
an email to your list and no one bothers to respond.

From those questions you've asked it looks as though you have TOO many doubts
about too many things in your head.

Ask yourself this:

"How many people do you think are already out there asking those same questions
as you are now"?

"How many of them could YOU HELP by helping to answer those questions by
recommending them a product or service or indeed one of your own"?

Turn the odds in your favor by becoming the PROVIDER and not the receiver.

That is why EMAIL marketing works.

You can speak to 10,000's of people as if you're speaking to them as 1 person
one on one!

You don't NEED to have all the answers to be qualified to at least build your own list
and start helping people.

Affiliate marketing is a good way to get started and make a little money. You don't have to worry about creating the product yourself, but you do have to make sure that the product is good and delivers on everything it promises. You can try asking for a review, or if the product is inexpensive enough, buy it yourself and try it out. Many people got their start in IM this way. I'm an affiliate for Aweber and get around $100/month for doing absolutely nothing.

1. Choose a business model (I recommend a combination of product creation and list building or a combination of affiliate marketing and list building)

2. Set a success goal and set action goals- A success goal would be $2,000 a month within 6 months from now and your action goals could be create one product per month, drive 100 targeted visitors to your squeeze page each day, send a daily email to your list each day, and stay away from buying other products or visiting the warrior special offers forum for 6 months.

3. Take consistent daily action based upon your action goal and never give up until you reach your success goal.

4. Be willing to make sacrifices and get comfortable with being uncomfortable because staying focused on one thing for 6 months is probably not going to be a smooth journey.

I would say focus on building your list. And focus on building relationship with that list. Affiliate Marketing would be a good start, and then after you are making 2k per Month, you can create your own product and earn even more.

It's simple: list= asset = money (don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's easy, it is not so easy, but it's simple ).

I understand exactly where you're at - you've acquired the core skills and now you're ready to zone in on a single strategy that will lead to success. However, before you go down one path, you want to know whether your strategy will eventually work, right? This is not an uncommon issue at all, and what often happens if you go for it alone is that after a month or two, when the results you want aren't coming in you start to doubt whether you're on the right track at all, and so you're tempted to switch course - then you're back to square one.

I guess you already know that affiliate marketing, creating a product and freelance copywriting can all generate revenue for you. Freelance copywriting is of course limited by the amount of time you have available, while the other two have potentially uncapped incomes.

It sounds to me like you need a mentor or at the very least to join a training program with an active community - that helps to keep you on track, give you key information and critically, to provide the reassurance that you are heading in the right direction if you're not seeing immediate results. I could of course recommend both a good course and a good mentor - I'm sure many people on here could as well and with some research you can find one that suits you. All programs and mentors are going to involve a cost. If you have a good one, that cost is often well worth while to establish your business.

I definitely think though that following a proven path and having the support of a community following the same program as you can help to focus and get to that point where you're generating a consistent income. Good luck to you whichever way you choose to go!

You've gained a lot of skills. Time to focus on the one that interests you or you enjoy the most. Something like copywriting would work because it's a much needed service. Once you pick one thing to focus on, grab a mentor in that area for guidance and learn as you go

Invest a good chunk of money into a coach who will also keep you accountable for not bouncing around.

At least that's what worked for me when I started (and others too!)

Since you are looking for some direction on which path to take, here is my personal advice:

In my opinion, starting a niche site and monetizing as an Amazon affiliate is dead simple, and perhaps the easiest way to get started. It won't make you rich, but will definitely get you started. That first commission check, no matter how small, will get you pumped up for more.

It will take some time, AT LEAST few months before you would even see a commission check. It's really not that hard to get a few blogs going, with each of them making several hundred dollars per month. In a year's time you could certainly be making $2G per month easy.

It all depends on how long you are willing to wait for your business to build. 3 months? A year? You could easily be making $2,000 + per month within a year.

Now, there are many other ways out there to make MUCH more money, but I personally believe this is the easiest way to get started. Amazon pretty much does the selling for you. You just need to get your readers excited with a bit of persuasive copywrighting, and then make them feel like they HAVE to click your affiliate link. Rinse, repeat...
