Test... Test... How I doubled my Epc's

One of a marketers favorite numbers are EPC's.. for those that don't know that's Earnings Per Click

and if you are a skilled marketer you test things out on your own without needing 3rd party validation..

SO I deiced to do a little test recently, I've been cutting out steps from my marketing lately that most people Preach are 100% Essential or you wont make money

Example: I recently cut out free reports, and free videos and bring people right to the sales page after they subscribe. conversions went up, but that's not what this post is about.

I did something most marketers would say is a freaking SIN but I wanted to test it out.

SO normally I would buy traffic and send it to a lead capture page then to a low risk offer..

But I wanted to see what happened if I sent directly to a low risk offer.

I didn't know what to expect, so I let it ran and guess what happened?

I doubled my Epc's

So I essentially doubled the amount of money I was making, and built a list of 100% pure buyers...

I went from $1.51 epc to $3.03 so almost doubled it

Not bad considering this traffic only cost .50 a click

Try it out and let me know your results

    Nick,
    I agree with you 100%.

You never know until you try it. Similar to your results, I run PPC campaigns and discovered that sometimes things turn out completely different than expected.

    I like your slogan test...test...test

    Good results, Nick.
    Congratulations!

I agree that Earnings Per Click is the most important number in any marketing campaign. I doesn't matter if it's a free or paid traffic.

I have just been thinking about trying something just like that with a niche site I have been neglecting. I don't have any good recent stats with the traditional ways you described but I wondered if a change in the process might work. I have to admit I am always afraid of spending money on something I haven't tried before so I am not sure I would have had the courage to go ahead and do it. Thanks for giving me a reason to try it out.

What do you mean by a "low risk offer"? I don't mean the exact niche or offer but just generally what you mean.

Do you think like is often the case your traffic source may have had a big impact on the results?

a low risk offer is something like a 7 day free trial or a $7 offer something that has pretty much no price resistance

I'm personally a tester. I have 20+ AB tests running at all times.

The reason why there are certain "conventions" is because they have been repeatedly proven to work. While you might increase your EPC by sending visitors directly to your sales page, it's very well established that collecting your visitors' email address is more profitable in the long run as not everyone is ready to buy right away.

I do agree that testing everything is important, but your particular example might hurt more than help - especially the beginners who read the forums.

Encouraging people to test things out for themselves is NOT going to hurt more than it helps. That's all Nick's post is...encouragement to test. If anyone takes it as more than that, any hurt that's caused is self inflicted.
