Pre selling info product before they're created?

Hey everyone,

just wondering if someone could give me a quick run down of how people make sales without having created their product before hand. I can't get it to make sense in my head. Not too bothered about the ins and outs id just like to know how it works.

Cheers

You have a great idea for a product. For one reason or another you want to make some sales. You advertise it for sale with a future delivery date. You complete it and send it on it's due date.

    Why?

Because you need motivation to finish the product and a definite future delivery date will motivate you. Or you want to see if there is a market for your product before you create it. Or (god forbid) you need some cash.

Just a few ideas off the top of my head.

  • Its like at kickstarter, people give you money just because they like how you sold them how great your end product is going to be. (even if its not that great)
