My WP2.8 upgrades went off without a hitch - the blogs still look good in IE & FF - but that's because the themes were well coded in the first place...

There are some FireFox plugins which stop javascript from running which could break a blog.

I'll 2nd Colin's call - your problem sounds like a theme issue. Start with the default theme and see how that looks in FF. If all's ok then I'd suggest you look fora WP2.8 compatible theme, most of the latest ones should be. Or get an updated version of the one you already have.

I have the same theme running across different blogs and one is messed up in FF and one is OK.

Ok Barry PM your links and leme take a look from my side, I'll get back to you if spot anything thats messing up for some reason.

It can be a combination of theme and plugins - are you using same theme as well as the same plugins on both blogs?

The point surely is not how it works for us but how it works for our customers. If IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera or whatever give problems when viewing a blog or cuase problems for its functionality it would be madness to upgrade to 2.8 just now.

Changing a theme or plug-ins on an established blog is at the least inconvenient and possibly damaging to your business.

It's long been a principle for many not to upgrade until the next incremental, by which I mean 2.8.1, and that's what I'll be waiting for.

By that time, many theme and plug-in designers will have got their act together too.

Easy to use, yes there's a little learning curve. I get my domains via Godaddy, and host on Bluehost. Both are great at what they do - and the Wordpress install on Bluehost is very, very simple and easy.

      Hope that helps!

I think Wordpress is very easy to use. Getting the full power out of it will take you a while and a bit of learning but it's not rocket science. Depending on the host you choose the install can be done via their control panel with a couple of clicks. Look for one with Fantastico.

Your own domain and hosting? If you're playing at it just go to Wordpress.com and get a free blog. If you're running a business the investment is tiny. Why wouldn't you?

The only thing that happened to me with the update is my tag cloud expanded to go all the way down the page. Check it out. How do I fix it?

  • I use both but primarily Firefox. I am having ZERO issues with WP 2.8 and Firefox. I suppose with older version there might be some issues. But Generally if you are having problems you need to isolate th source and not speculate on some issue because it is effecting you but not other people.

2.8 rocks! I've had zero issues with Firefox.
A client of mine had issues with editing pages, and it turned out it was a plugin. Once the plugin was de-activated, the problem was solved.

Um..there were quite a few people yesterday talking about it...just thought I'd put an interim fix out there for anyone who needs it until it get addressed.

Guess in future I'll just keep my trap shut....eh?
