Track CTR on Wordpress banners free?

Hello, i'm searching two hours for a plugin or any way to track my banner's click through rate. I'm finding only paid plugins. Is there any free alternative?

I want to track the impressions and clicks on the banners in the widget area of my website so i can optimize them. Also a split testing option will be very useful.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I only know of a FREE plugin that track clicks. I am not sure if it tracks impression. You can track your blog impression with Google Analytics. Check the wordpress plugin directory am sure you will find a free one that may have a pro version for more advance options

You can track any link click online or offline (ex: desktop, pdf, etc...) with Google Analytics & hashtags.

It's not free but for 99 bucks you get a great banner pro management system with great support

search for phpwebscripts the guy that runs that site has two types of banner scripts and I've looked at many over 20 years and most are terrible

    He will support it

It has a few days learning curve to really set it up

    But once it's up, WOW

You can have unlimited blogs all with a zone for the ads you run and you get the header script plug in for wp

    then put his script

then you have real great info as to imps/ctr/etc

you can then target sell any blog you want that you zoned out

so lets say you blog about 20 things

    cars
    chicks
    movies
    seo
    politics
    books
    whatever

each blog gets its own zone and you can customize any ads you want through the zone and his script is setup to let you sell through lots of gateways

so you can be your own ad network if you want to sell ads

top of page banners, bottom of page banners, you can put them in posts or pages or on the widget this way

yep it's 99 bucks, but for real banner stats you need to spend sometimes

    good luck

I've been looking for the same myself.

From what I've found, Ad Rotate is the one recommended most often. Free version on Wordpress.org.

I've downloaded it, but have not used it yet. So I can't say for sure it's good.

I will try to give it a go tonight. Will report back if I get to it.

Okay, I installed the plug in I mentioned and played around with it a little.

Seems to be a real good plugin, I am using the free version. Pretty simple to use and gives you the stats you need. You can insert ads with shortcode or html code. Shortcode option is nice. Actually has quite a few options. Some are only for the pro version, but that looks to be mainly if you want to sell ads.

Stats include, shown, clicks and CTR. What more do you need?

I set up a rotation with two ads, worked fine for me. Counted my impressions and my one click. Only thing it showed me both ads (usually you only want each person to see one ad), but I think there is a setting for that.

From what I see, you could rotate pretty much anything, any code, so I "think" this could be used for many things, like opt-in boxes/forms, squeeze pages, ect. Since it uses shortcode, the rotations could be placed about anywhere.

That's all I can say about it right now. Hope it helps.

Thanks Ron. Yes that's exactly what i need. Nothing fancy, just a rotation of two banners and stats to compare them.
