I have only ever had one clickbank account, but I keep hearing of IMers having more than one. I once saw a Jim Edwards video where he claimed to have many CB accounts. Why? Am I missing something?

I have separate accounts because at a glance I can see my sales for each niche, but also, the reason to have an account for each product is so that you can benefit from getting affiliates. Even though you can sell up to 50 items with one account, only one product can go in the marketplace for you to get affiliates. For the high fees that Clickbank charge, I wouldn't use them, but it's worth it because of the affiliate system, and Clickbank takes care of that and mails out the affiliate checks. Michele |

I've definitely seen the benefit of switching out accounts for different niches. Clickbank has very rudimentary tracking and it can get really difficult trying to sort everything out, and every step you can take to compartmentalize that is better. Also, and this is definitely on the 'speculation' side so take it with a grain of salt, I've had hoplinks which stopped converting that started converting again when I switched them to another account. I have no idea what's going on there but I did have it happen a couple times. |

It's mostly important for those who are selling products as opposed to those who are just selling as affiliates. If you are an affiliate, you only need one account. If your link isn't converting, then perhaps try a new account as Harry explained. When you list your products on CB, you can only enter one main URL. So what happens if you want to sell more than one product? They all have to link through to that URL, which makes it difficult for your affiliates to market each product. The only way around this is to list all your products on one landing page. If they are unrelated, however, this might turn people off, as they expect to see a sales page when they click, not a page where they have to click another link to see the sales page. By having multiple CB accounts, you give each account one product. Then, affiliates market whichever product they prefer. In my case, I sell a dog product and a teen depression product - totally unrelated. With one CB account, it's not viable to try getting affiliates for the second product because they will end up on the dog page. Hope this explains it. Sylvia |

Some affiliates believe they get flagged if a bad credit card is used on a sale they referred, so like to juggle accounts to prevent this happening. no proof behind it though.

I must concur. I have multiple CB accounts as well, for all the reasons previously mentioned. Several of my accounts sell products and several are just to promote products. It's just easier to keep everything straight all the way around. *C* |

I have different account for my own products and others for products that I am affiliate for. I guess it is easier to track sales for your various niches.

I guess cuz CB takes too much allowance and some debits... and when the time comes to get paid ... we get much less than actually expected ...

One reason in the past to use multiple affiliate accounts was for tracking purposes. You can now track from one account with the tracking code (tid) which you append to the hoplink. Harvey . |

David Not sure if this answers your question but ClickBank provides * An API related to the Instant Notification service 2008-01-08 Release Summary - ClickBank * A datafeed of products in the ClickBank marketplace FAQ Marketplace - ClickBank Harvey . |

In one account you can only set a fixed percentage amount as affiliate commission. Example: If you set it for 50% then all the products you sell via that particular account, you can give only 50% commission. If you want to create another product to sell where you need to give 60 or 70% commission to affiliates, then you will need another clickbank account.

And you opened up new account with your same details? Or you used details of your father or your sister? Because it is true that my old CB account affiliate simply does not receive sales anymore... it is like the hops are not really working, even if at my tests they look all right... CB is just so not to be trusted!

Can someone answer this? I want to possibly use Clickbank for a new product, but I want to use my pen name on it. Will the pen name show up on the persons Clickbank reciept, and also, how will my payments from Clickbank work if it is under a pen name and not my real name? If someone could clarify this, I would appreciate it. I'm debating about going with Clickbank or simply my 1SC account. The good thing about Clickbank is the access to affiliates. |

| I know many affiliates, including clients, who've been in exactly this baffling position, sometimes very strikingly (e.g. many steady daily sales suddenly disappearing completely, until they "magically" re-appeared in their original numbers when a new account was used) . So much so that I suspect that must be quite a common reason for affiliates originally to have opened a second account.

I've certainly heard of people not banking the first two cheques (because of concerns over bank charges/delays, depending on which country they live in), switching to DD and then returning the two cheques to Clickbank and asking for those payments to be made by DD, and being successful at doing so, though.

Hi Robert, Generally, you have to read people's terms of service to see the answers to all such questions. Different companies have different terms of service, policies and procedures. I can tell you that with PayPal, an individual is allowed up to two accounts (one personal and one business). And that you can get additional, separate, business accounts there for limited liability companies, too. (And that at Clickbank, you can have as many as you like). |

It's a lot easier to track sales instead of having everything all squeezed into one account. I'd prefer to have multiple clickbank accounts as well if I was generating a lot of sales.
