I wanted to post and get some feedback from all of you on the best ways you have found to get traffic to your website. I seem to be having trouble now getting traffic to my online store and obviously I'm doing something wrong with this one. Even the things that have worked for other sites are not working for this one. I don't even need thousands of people coming to the site really...I just need hundreds. I don't want to pull the site and there for the business, but if the traffic doesn't pick up soon, it will become more to keep it up than it is worth.

Use the forum search function - I'm getting bored of constantly answering this same question.

You really should use the search function on the forum before posting questions. This has been answered several times already.

But to give you a quick run down of my advice...

Join forums and blogs in your niche and start answering peoples questions. When they begin to view you as an authority they will be more apt to visit your site and buy into your product/service. Thats the best thing you can do in the long run. Another thing you can do is join a traffic exchange like traffic swarm. Less targeted... but it will show traffic.

Here is what I tell people that I mentor. It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 1000 visitors. If you have 1 visitor that buys that is the best...If you have 1000 and no one buys cause they aren't targeted then that will just suck for you cause you won't see conversions.

Find targeted traffic by doing the forum/blog answering that I mentioned!

Good luck on your search for more traffic.

Another way is to write articles for other websites or ezines. Webmasters are always looking for quality content to put on their sites & blogs. Lets say your niche is knitting. Then write some quality content on knitting leaving a link to your site in your resource box at the end.

Then go to Google & search for knitting sites and knitting newsletters & contact their owners and offer them your free article. I know from my point of view when people email me with really good content I'm happy to put it on my blog.

There are way too many proven traffic strats ( free & paid ) for you to be without traffic to any offer you have.

Make a list of them and test them one by one until you discover the ones that will bring in the visitors.

As Andy suggests, use the forum search function for traffic strats.

    Hope This Helps!!

Then the answer is - you haven't done them properly - or enough.

Traffic generation is not a one-size fits all subject and the best methods are different for different niches.

But what they all have in common is - if you need regular consistent traffic you'd better be taking regular consistent action.

Most generation techniques work if you just do them properly.

You can get traffic just using one strategy if you do it enough - whether it's article marketing, ppc, social bookmarking, directory submissions, blog commenting - whatever.... they all work.

There is no secret to getting traffic other than putting attractive links in places where your target audience is - and that leaves millions of web pages for you to use aswell as the plethora of services for spreading your message via Press release, articles, bookmarks, links, blogs, etc.. etc..

It IS an old question - IN THIS FORUM.

If different people come here and ask the same question week after week - how good do you think the responses will get?

I've typed dozens of pages about this subject and even written and given away ebooks to this forums members on this subject - I've even created videos and given them to this forums members.

How many times do you expect us to keep spending our valuable time repeating the same information just because people can't be bothered to use the forum search tool?

This a community and people should respect the information that's already here - it probably answers 99% of all IM questions already.

With all due respect, Andy, you can't expect every newbie who comes here to automatically understand how things work here or that they need to use the search function. Many will use it, most won't.

I do agree with you that it gets very tiresome, but then again, so do all the "clickbank ripped me off" threads.
