I'm in a desparate state - please offer any comments you think will help. I created my own product and wrote my own sales letter for www.1HourMuscles.com and have spent a lot of time tweaking it but have still only managed 3 sales to date. I just feel that maybe there is something so obvious and fundamental that I have still not grasped and which is ruining my chances of sales. Creating my own sales page was very important to me as I want to learn the 'how' and 'why' but am finding it incredibly frustrating just now. Please, please, please help someone in need. thank you |

3 sales from how many visitors to the site? And how was the traffic targeted? ("Who were they?") I know absolutely nothing about your niche at all, and it's probably not a conversation I should be posting in at all, really, but for the record, I thought the heading and subheading were certainly not the strongest part of the sales-page. Which they perhaps should be? |

Thanks for your comments. 3 sales from about 500 visitors. Visitors came from good terms with SEO. Also some from PPC. Others from affiliates. Headline and sub-head are a real struggle for me. |

I would go with a slightly different strategy which is to focus 100% on building a newsletter about muscle building (good niche) and offer your product as a solution to the problem.Selling directly to people takes a lot of targeted traffic, but if you can get people on your list you will contact them several times over time.It takes at least 7 emails for people to act (a statistic). So, write a series of at least 7 emails with useful information and offer your product as a solution.

Well, it's a terribly crowded niche and the leaders have been around for a long time. I'd say that your sales page follows all the guru advice pretty well, but I happen to think that advice doesn't work very well in some niches. (The gurus mostly specialize in the "make money" niche, obviously, and many of them don't know much about what works in other niches, IMNSHO.) But have you looked at your successful competitors? A glance at 5 Tips to Lose Belly Fat, Get Flat Six Pack Abs, Ab Workouts, Abdominal Exercises and Fat Loss Diet | Burn The Fat Feed the Muscle reveal a different kind of sale page, less overheated and more sober. I would look hard at what they're doing. And if I were you, I'd test out a different approach entirely. I'd turn the landing page into a short squeeze page that offers a "leaked" chapter from your book and a newsletter subscription. If you can't sell that in a couple of paragraphs, you're in the wrong business. ![]() Use the leaked chapter to build interest and have a strong pitch at the end to buy the product. (That would go to a sales page.) Give good information in the newsletter, leak some of your secrets, and again include a strong pitch for the product at the end of each one. Try that approach for the next 500 visitors. I bet you'll see better results. Plus, you'll have a strong list to hit up with other offers. I hope this helps. |

@Tom: You took the words out of my mouth! Or I took them out of your mouth. Or something. Actually I was writing while you were posting. Great minds...

Ok, I just hopped on to your site and, this is just a passing remark, but the slide-in popover you've put on it is really, reeeeaally slow. Like, annoyingly slow. I have actually never seen a popup that moves that slowly. If I got annoyed bit it when I was expecting to see that kind of stuff, I imagine some of your leads might also. I would definitely think about speeding it up quite a bit or just having it directly pop up in the center of the page. |

I can not control the speed of slide-in popover (or atleast I don't think I can). It is standard Aweber popover

The site doesn't load correctly in Safari web browser - the scroll bars are missing. The site takes a while to load as well. I agree with the poster above me - if the page takes too long to load, or if something is off, people will just click away from the page. Do you have Google Analytics installed? What is your average visit time for visitors? Sign up for Google Analytics here: Google Analytics That will tell you if people are clicking off the page immediately. Linda |

The pop-over is annoying because I started reading your page and BAM!!! you rudely interrupt me trying to get my email address. Bub-bye. You should probably save it for the 'on exit' event, not at the beginning. Like someone else mentioned, I'd suggest trying something other than the classic sales page like a blog (or flog) with a news magazine look. |

I actually like the way the site looks--but your picture at the top is wrong IMO--change the shirt to something not brown, since nothing else is, and maybe without a collar-comb the hair and smile...if nothing else--the shirt has to go..
