Free gift ideas for digital products

I'm currently selling digital products on ebay. I get a sale, burn it onto disk and post. I'm happy with the success I've had so far. I sell a wide range of software products such as:-

- Computer aided design software
- Video Downloader and converter software
- Apple Mac Software Suite (Media player, project management, website design, desktop publishing, music editing etc)

I've worked out that the cost of sending an extra disk at the same time is about 15p so I want to include a free gift with every order so that I can hopefully boost my feedback star ratings and ebay search ranking. I'm trying to think of popular hot selling digital products that are generic enough for me to send as a free gift with every type of order.

This is what I've come up with so far:-

4000+ sound effects
Fantasy art
Clipart
Business Clip Art
Huge Kindle Book Collection
Flash Banners
Animated Gifs
Website Templates

I have 4.5gbs of space to fill so I can hopefully fit a lot of great products onto my free gift that will massively increase the perceived value of my customers purchase. Any ideas of what I should or shouldn't put on it?

Thanks

Fernendo

That's a great idea Fernendo and will be a wonderful surprise for your customers.

What would be good is if you could give them a 'free' eBook which included some resources in there which carry your affiliate links.

You'll probably get a ton of ideas by doing a search on this forum for eBook creation (or something similar!).

Can you find a suitable eBook which gives you full edit and resale rights? If so, you could turn it into your product in no time.

    Alternatively, outsource an eBook.

    Good luck

Nice idea, may be you could try and use the opportunity to entice them to get into your auto responder list so that you can market to them in future. This is what I have in mind...

      1) You send them the cd
      2) Send some free stuff in the cd to increase perceived value
      3) Then you tell them that what they have for free is just 1/3rd of what they actually get because of their purchase. The remaining 2/3rd of the goodies is available online only for authorized buyers like him.
      4) Get him to sign up so that he gets access to more free stuff via your website
      5) Voila you have converted a 1 time ebay buyer to a subscriber in your list that you can market to many times over.

It looks like you are on the right track to me. I am sometimes a sucker for the free gifts and as long as what I am getting is legal your shortlist looks fairly decent.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys. I'm only doing a few sales a week at the moment but when this increases I'll definitely look into building a mailing list and possibly giving away an ebook containing affiliate links.
