CommentLuv. Do you Use it and Why?

Just thrown it on my blog in a bid to increase those comments but does anyone else use them and what are the benefits?

    CommentLuv plays to those people who want a backlink, so you're still going after the spammer crowd and you'll get many of those type of comments. If you make it so that a blog reader only gets that do follow backlink after the third comment, you'll get far more high quality comments, from people who have taken time to read your blog and come back for more. The spammers will usually get discouraged after trying to leave that one backlink and just go elsewhere. And, this is true, whether you use CommentLuv or any other plug in for spam moderation.

      This is the best idea, or you will get swamped with spam and you will likely spend half your day deleting it.

      I know some folks use Disqus to alleviate the spam problem, but in my view this may cost you visitors who were prepared to leave a comment but are not going to sign up to another site to do so.

    I have tried it for backlinking but its not that much effective to be honest.. Comments seem Spammy though

    I'm more interested in the advantages of using it as a blog owner as opposed to the actual commentor (ie getting backlinks)

    It incentivises other bloggers to leave their comments, resulting in more interaction between visitors and the blog owners, and also between visitors.
