Need opinions, suggestions, advice

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

I was introduced to this awesome forum a month ago and since then it has been a roller coaster ride. I have been a silent on looker of this forum for a month understanding each and everything, I did not even know what SEO stands for, and today I am glad that I know whole lot more. 2 weeks ago I bought my first domain and my first hosting account and above all launched my first real website.
Initially, it was all good but I think lot of people here will agree with me that with all the information this place has to offer, it does become overwhelming.

My first step was to actually get the website up and running. Now that I am done with that, I am thoroughly confused about what next, where to start and what to target. Should I build the list or do social bookmarking for traffic, or do PPC or all 3?

I have signed up as an Affiliate with E-junkie, so would really like some Affiliate marketing suggestions. Any guidance or suggestions or instructions would be invaluable.

Yes.

You can do any or all of the above, or something entirely different. Just do something. Traffic - Trust - Value.

I'm very new as well, let me share with you what I did/gonna do.

I picked a topic I knew about and really felt I could help people with, removing computer viruses. I then came up with my idea for how the website should look and then paid someone to help me get it up. (I work at a state college so finding a capable college student who needed money and knew something about SEO was very easy for me)

I also had to decide how the site would make money. I chose adsense, amazon and clickbank. I am not working all three to start but all the content and everything is setup. I decided to start with adsense first.

OK, my site is up, my money making methods are working, now I am at the same place as you I imagine. Your next step is building traffic to the site.

If you dont have traffic you wont get sales, its that simple.

My plan is to pick one keyword for the site and work on building traffic to the site and move up the list on google for that keyword. When I first got indexed I was on page 28, last time I checked I was on page 25. I have just started to submit articles to ezine articles and work on creating backlinks. I plan to keep this up until I reach the first page and am in the top three choices for my keyword. Once I have the traffic, adsense should start making me a little bit of money.

After that I will change the marketing efforts over to my clickbank links. I will do the same thing all over again, write articles and banklink to the page on my site that has my clickbank links. This will drive more traffic to my site and should increase my revenue with adsense.

I am doing this more as an experiment and really dont have any delusions of quitting my job but I am very curious about which methods have the most effect on my site. I plan to track everything I do and take it slowly because I want to keep the result from different techniques separate so I can see the impact they have had. If your in it for the money then just bust it out and get those articles and banklinks going NOW!!!

  So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

Looks like you've got plenty of products to offer to people that want to make money online.

Now it's time for you to learn how to generate visitors in the IM niche and see what happens.

You also know that other niches are available and are probably easier for you to operate in right? ( just something to think about for later )

My first step was to actually get the website up and running.

OK. So the site is up and running - it seems to me that it is barely breathing! You might want to spend a little time putting some content on it - as your site description says, "this is just another Wordpress blog".
Now, make it special and then come back and do whatever else you are advised to do.

To my opinion you should read some SEO & Copywriting books and Subscribe for Google AdWords to make Keyword Research for your articles - content is very significant. Tnen attract traffic to your site or blog.
