hi, i noticed aweber has a new option...or at least it seems new because i just found it when i was on it today... basically, you can put WHAT TIME you can send your emails... anybody study what time is great? would be good to know... thanks BJ ps...aweber also seem to have an option where you can send email only a certain day (like monday or tuesday , etc)... i like sending my emails frequently so i guess i won't use this option... |

I would probably send it to suit where the majority of my subscribers are from. If you have 80% of U.S. subscribers, maybe send it at a time that will be during the day in as many states as you can. Work it out using the world clock site. |

I have found that if you send emails on tues, wed, thursday at 10:30am to USA subscribers to be the best response/open rates. Friday and Monday and weekends has not been as good!

At the end of the day you need to test this option and test the best time of day... I would and am going to test this as well.. I would start with narrowing down the times in 5 hour intervals to see the best open rates... Then I would test again and try to narrow it down to the best 3 hour window... You need to carry out a variety of tests over the next few weeks to ensure you get an accurate open rate for the time interval and not your subject line, etc... This is why I would carry out this test over a number of weeks to a month... Mike Hill |

bluenetworx, did you mean western time or eastern time in US? just a thought...for really popular sports events like the NBA finals...it was at 5pm western ( or 8pm eastern time)...or was it 6/9? anyways..i guess that's when people watch tv...not sure about when they check email... not sure...so maybe eastern time may be more influential? just a thought... mike hill... as far as testing your emails...do you use aweber too? i'm guessing you do...how do you test your email open rates with autoresponder sequence...i notice with BROADCAST, the stats show up...but haven't gotten into finding out stats for the autoresponder sequences... thanks BJ |

LOL, BJ They have had that option ever since I started using them - 3 years ago. It's great. When I was in Europe two Christmases ago, I queued three weeks worth of newsletters before leaving. They got delivered every Friday, as though I was still working. Since I live in Japan, this has always been handy. |

I was doing some work in Aweber yesterday and I didn't see this option. Pretty cool option when you figure out the best times to send messages. |

There is no such thing as a 'best time' to send email. That function was put there so you could schedule email at times when Awebers servers aren't at full load, so the emails get out faster. |

I don't mean to sound dumb here, but is there not studies done about what time is the best time to have converence calls, or send emails etc.? Not sure how to get this information though... To Your Success, Clint Anderson |

Hi BJ and all, Thanks for bringing this up. I was going to make a quick post about it but figured starting a thread on it myself would be self-promotional. What we've released is day-and-time scheduling for autoresponders. Basically, you can tell us during which days and times you do (and don't) want us to deliver each of your follow up emails. As Kevin notes, you've always been able to set a day/time for broadcasts. Quote:
There's a YouTube video about it on our blog, and you can also join us for a half-hour demo of it via GoToWebinar this afternoon at 3:00PM EDT. Hope you guys like it!

Allen, Quote:
each subscriber will receive the follow up message based on the send window time period as applied to their local timezone. There is no need to compromise based on where most of your list is subscribed from. Note step 5 in the our KB describing send windows: How Do I Use Autoresponder Send Windows? :: AWeber Knowledge Base * When to send is very dependent on your audience and "mid morning" is not always correct. Test for your audience and tweak accordingly.

I think it would be really cool if this was possible: 1. If Aweber could track the open rate of every e-mail sent out over any chosen period of time, say for example one year. 2. Then, let's say a marketer sends out about 1 e-mail each day, allways at different hours. 3. Aweber could then store all data about open rates at different hours for all of your e-mails for all your lists. 4. And what would be really cool was if Aweber had a way to present all this information in a graphical user interface, for example: - graphs showing the open rate VS time of day for any chosen time period - move the mouse cursor over the best results, and an image pops up with information about that particular peak mail - Did the e-mails with the best open rates have anything in common / what if Aweber could provide an comparison/analysis of factors that were similar in the best doing mailings. - automatic suggestions based on the collected information about what might be the best times to mail your list, and so on, and so on. Maybe something like this is possible allready, but I thought I'd do the lazy thing and ask ![]() Regards, Bjarne Eldhuset |

I was searching for something else when this thread came up. I email daily and while most subscribers are in the US, I send out my emails at 5 am EST. People like to get the emails in the morning. Be Well. |
