"Articles" section of the forum - what's happening?

I have been writing articles on Internet and business marketing for many years and was contemplating adding some original articles to the "Articles" section of the forum. I learned that you must pay a subscription fee to Freelancer in order to post articles.

So I followed the link to the sign-up page and could not see any way to subscribe. In addition, there was no information on how much the subscription was, how long it lasted, type of articles accepted, etc.

I went back to the Articles section and then noticed that there have been only two articles posted in 2014. What? (One was in January, one in March).

So I'm left wondering . . . what is happening here? Why is there no way to subscribe? Why has Freelancer not said anything about this section? Are they planning to kill it?

Does anyone with some knowledge have an explanation? (Obviously I can't post questions in that forum because I don't have a subscription.)

Thanks, Steve

Thank you for the link to the thread where keeping the Articles section of the forum was debated. It sounds as though most were in favor of closing the section, a few wanted it left open.

Would it not be appropriate to post in the Articles section that it was "Closed to new submissions" or "temporarily under review" or something - rather than leaving the appearance that it was open including a live link to the subscription page?

      Just a suggestion. Thank you.
