Looking for simple yet catchy ideas (fads) / items to sell?

So I've been thinking lately about creating or beginning a small business or website focused around a certain fad, or fads. Like one central place where you can keep up on the latest fashion, gaming, cooking, etc fads that gain a large amount of attention at once. I would be looking for physical items (like silly bands, people loved these things years ago yet the were so simple) to market and sell. Any input / ideas would be great. Thanks

It sounds a lot more complex than a small business or website. Keeping up with a large range of fads (fashion, gaming, cooking, etc) would take a heck of a lot of work.

Are you interested in fads? If your interest isn't strong enough, I think the workload will be too much and you'll move on to the next thing.

If you want to promote "fad" / niche products - I'd create a salespage for that single product...then promote it hard through social media. When it burns out, move onto the next fad product.

Sounds like a good idea. Any idea where I can find a source that keeps up with those kind of things? All the new fads and accessories, etc.

These ideas might work. I've been noticing more 80s stuff coming back in style, including 80s jelly bracelets, skinny jeans and other accessories. You might want to look into th at.

Would something such as these trinket girls phone cases be something that you could run maybe a one page website around? I was thinking I could create a Facebook page and do some ad promotion and create a single page for the cases putting them on display, then having a checkout for the product and that is basically it?

Here are the phone case examples I am talking about

If I were doing this, I would set up a "Deal of the Day" or "Deal of the Week" website rather than a fad niche site. Then I would archive all my past deals into easily accessible indexed pages so that people could go back to a particular item and buy at a later time if they wanted.

By having such a site, you could focus on sending all your traffic to the same place all of the time rather than starting over with a new niche site each time you offered a different product.

You'll need a very brandable domain and business name. In addition, I would start a daily or weekly newsletter that I would send to all my subscribers announcing the latest new deal. So starting and nurturing an email subscriber list would be of prime importance.

      That's what I'd do.
