Can someone explain why Flippa took $10 out of my Paypal account right after i had sold a domain for $10. Look at the attached image.

I might be wrong but Flippa, takes a 10% success fee out of every domain you sell. I believe the minimum they can take is $10, so since you sold a domain for $10, they took all of it. Check out Flippa's pricing page.

That doesn't make any sense because I paid the $9 listing fee as well. You have to pay a listing and a success fee? **** that. Just gave away one of my domains for free. wow.

Yes, they take a listing fee and a success fee. It really doesn't pay to use Flippa for a $10 domain sale.

This kind of thing happens to all of us and it's good to know now, especially for anyone who might be reading over the discussion never having used Flippa. Lots of people out there who are saying Flippa is the way to easy riches, but if you are getting levied these huge fees everytime you list/sell a domain, then it has to be a high priced domain you are selling in order to profit. Hopefully you will have better luck with the site in the future.

Ya nicola right that flippa minimum success fee is $10. And you should sell your domain in price above your listing fee + your success fee to get profit from there. Every one making mistake for the first one, as long as they don't make the same mistake again .

Oh that's a bummer. I think Flippa allows you to set your own price, don't they? You have to set it high enough to make it worth your while.

Didn't realise they took minimum $10 as commission too! That is painful...

So it costs atleast $19 to sell something.

That's like when I experimented selling domains on eBay years ago. I thought the domains were worth hundreds of dollars and then they'd sell for under $2. It happens.

If you are going to use their platform, it just makes sense that they take 2 types of fees.

Yep, you have to pay a listing fee and a success fee. The same thing happened to me a while back ago. I was selling a domain I thought would do well.

Someone bid one dollar and despite everything I tried to do to get more people to bid no one did. It was like I was paying the guy to take the domain. I learned to at the very least cover your expenses and add a little for profit.

No reserve is great because it will often get more people to bid. The best thing is to start the bidding at a certain dollar amount.

I'm not sure how anyone can earn money with the prices they are charging. But, I would venture a guess to say that a website listed there will be retailing for many hundreds of dollars not just a few dollars. The same would be true for domains, which are usually aged and have value as they are already in Google search.

Actually a team member from Flippa was very generous to me and reimbursed me accordingly. All is good!

Yes doing some research isn't a bad thing before you list your domain there.

I like Flippa, but i think the fees are a little high if you sell low ticket domains or sites.

Glad to see you got your money back though, they have good customer support i can vouch for that!
