Sometimes the sales copy is longer than the product

I just bought an eBook that had great sales copy. I think it was longer than the product itself. What a disappointment when I got the material. It looks like it was written as an article and converted to an ebook. The topics covered were broad with just a short paragraph about each. No detail, no real useful information.

I made up this example so as not to reveal who's ebook it is but it went something like this:

Use the Internet For More Business

The internet is big and you can find lots of ways to market on it.

Google Adwords

This is a picture of Google Adwords. They are text ads. You can put ads online and get lots of business.
Thanks for the valuable insights. Jeez. This is one that I'm really considering refunding. Of course if I do it right away I might be labeled a scam refunder.

The person most probably hired a poor ghost writer for the ebook and a great copywriter for the sales page.

      Hi ryanman,

There is a chance onto it that happened so. I saw one like this already. And it may have occurred even from a good intention. We don't know the circumstances.

Despite it, in Scott's case I would go for the refund right away. And it would be easy to decide on buy or not to buy something from that source next time.

      All the best,

      Sandor

  • I would encourage you to do a refund, obviously paying for an ebook that give a single line description for each method is a junk. I would bet the seller isn't going to question you or label you a scammer. Just my 2cents

That is one thing I have never been able to figure out. Can't we just cut to the chase. Tell me about the product and how much the darn thing is going to cost. That's it. How complicated can that be!

I find this alot, not necessarily that the sales copy is extra long but the ebook is short, 4/5 pages and has very little 'meat' in it.

As an aside I have looked at alot of PLR articles and tbh they are just crap, just sooo generic and full of fluff I would be scared to put any of them on any of my blogs.
