Shotgun, or Laser?

I make money from various sources/methods of IM.

I'm wondering what you guys think is the BEST way to make money through IM, specifically regarding how you approach products:

- Do you use a Shotgun approach, where you just try to make a little bit of money from a ton of different products?

- Do you use the Laser approach, where you focus on one product, build high-quality, in-depth information sites around it, and milk the one product for all it's worth?

"Both" is not an option. While it might make sense to do a little of both for diversification, I'm assuming that one approach is more profitable than another.


I'll share a little bit more of my experience, and which one I think is a better approach, but I don't want to taint the results...I'll wait for some votes to come in.

    In my opinion. and this is just my opinion, there is no best way.

    Everybody has their own set of skills. Some people are great in being able
    to sell everything and anything. I can do that. I sell affiliate products from
    the dating niche to the health niche to you name it.

    Others need to focus on just one thing because they either don't have the
    skill to be able to write for each niche or don't have the desire to promote
    things that they're not interested in.

    Even authority sites, where you review several products in the same niche,
    are not for everybody. Some people can't write objective reviews or have
    no desire to do so for so many products. So they just concentrate on one
    that they either use or at least know something about.

    Either model can bring in a substantial income. So again, in my opinion,
    there is no such thing as best.

    It's what's best for you.

    Both, because I work 100's of different affiliate niche markets and products. Some sites are laser focused while others cover multiple products/niches.
