I've been looking to purchase a solo ad. However, all the ad providers I see have these requirements:

1. It must be to a squeeze page
2. It must be a free offer

So, I get number 2 to some extent. I'm not sure why number 1 is what it is.

I was looking for a solo ad to get more exposure to my service which allows you to get paid, and not for the traditional squeeze page->optin->OTO type funnel.

Why is it that solo ad providers all want the above format? Is it to make sure they can show conversions?

Thanks

That's a very, very good question.

However, you need to do a little more 'fishing' because all of the top solo ad sellers (that I know)...

Have absolutely no problem sending to paid offers.

Their funnels were usually built with paid offers, too...

Which have been proven to have traffic that converts much, much better

That would be my guess, too...

Because face it, it's much harder to turn freebie seekers into buyers

So why not just give freebie seekers more freebies?

I don't understand the issue, as you will generally have much more chance of making sales if you first capture people's email address.

As for the solo ad seller, it's easier for him to generate a lot of clciks when he offers something free to his list. And since clicks is his business, he'll make more money this way.
