Do you need money to make good money with IM?

Suppose you had a little money like $100+ to cover Autoresponder, hosting, etc. but that's it. How would you create a good income from there? There's a lot of people who could use that advice these days.

Also, how feasible is it or do most IMers wind up spending lot more than that, if they want success that is?

(My sig is NOT the answer to this question. What's your answer?)

I'm going to second this idea as a list goes with you, no matter what product you are promoting within the same niche. And, even if you don't own a site, but merely promote via a Facebook group and then direct the members to an autoresponder newsletter box on a free hosted site (Wix, blogger, wordpress, etc), those subscribers will still be yours to market to.

A marketing budget definitely helps man, let's not BS one another.

If you have no income streams... And no budget? You're going to hit a wall... Or fall into some quicksand... Fast.

Just my $.02... (Of course, and naturally, there are other variables at play; like your connections, skillset, aptitude, luck, ability to expeditiously generate profit, ability to market at zero cost, and everything else. They're all variables. Just like your marketing budget).

But that's not all. It often takes a full house to stay in the game; you can have the best marketing budget on the planet, and be lacking in those other areas, thus still be destined for epic failure.

I'm also of the opinion... That if you don't have a budget and you're struggling? You'll literally *never* be in a creative, resourceful mindset. You'll constantly be "locked up" and tense; thereby reducing your ability to make effective, strategic and innovative decisions / investments / creations.

(Naturally, I could debate for the other side that says agile development will allow for a thin startup cost in practically all "online business plans"... But I still think if you have zero budget, you're at a reaaaal disadvantage; even if you're doing seemingly inexpensive activities such as launching products / SEO / Ghostwriting... Or anything).

You need a lot of money to make good money. At the same time you can lose a LOT more money if you don't know what you're doing so it's always a good idea to set aside a small budget to play with rather than going all out from the very beginning.

To make some money without a budget requires time and effort and this causes a lot of newbies to get burnt out and start crying about how everything is just one big scam. If you want to take a low cost path, I suggest planning for the future. Start building up a social media presence, start building a list, set up a blog/site. You may not have much use for them now, but 3-6 months down the road you will have options to push for your marketing efforts.

To make good money fast, you need to invest. You can't expect to make a ton of money without some investment first. This is a business after all.

However, a lot of money is not necessary to start something big. I started off with the cost of a website ($.99 with promo code from godady) and hosting for .01 from HostGator with a coupon.

I did spend $15 for some quality articles because I was too lazy at the moment to write some articles, but overall a $16.01 investment for my business isn't too bad. I made enough in the first month of my website launch to purchase another month of hosting and then some. And then my income only escalated in the second month of the creation of my website. After that I was able to invest in other endeavors.

I would say that you don't need a good amount of money to get started. If you have the budget to pay for the tools needed, that's a big step (hosting, autoresponder, software etc...). Then you can basically start with free methods and reinvest the money you made.

As with everything, if you have a budget to spend you will see results faster, but it's not necessary to make good money in due time.

we started with free traffic, and then moved to paid traffic when the sales started rolling in.

Always build a list first, and send all traffic to some sort of a squeeze page. Then do the selling via email after.

We do very well online these days, and 30% of profits goes back into paid traffic. Always reinvest, and do like the big guys and gurus do, pay for traffic, its the quickest way to make money online and scale up campagns working.

Hey Celente, What free traffic methods did you use? PM me the details of your $50
program. As I said I have lots of local currency, but no us$. That makes things a little
harder. But I know many free traffic methods and I know how to monetize pretty well.

I think sometime it need money and sometime it need no money spend. It just depend on your ability. If you choose free offer everywhere then it need no money. But if you choose paid offer then it need more money. But i think if you spend money then you can get good result. Because i believe that Money should be make from money. So my opinion, if you make more and more money from IM then you need money. thanks

$100 is more than I had when I started.

You need a domain-name, hosting and to subscribe to an autoresponder - that's all. You can actually get a solid business going for half of that $100 if you have some marketing knowledge and skills.

I became a ClickBank affiliate, and got fully up and running and profitable for about $60.

Take no notice of people telling you that you have to have money to invest, to build a profitable business: whether you need to do that depends on what sort of business model you're going to adopt. There are many people here on big six-figure incomes who got everything started for well under $100. For me, there wasn't even a time, in the early days, when having a few thousand, or even a few hundred, to "invest" would have made anything about my business any faster, more profitable, or more secure. "Starting capital" doesn't have to be relevant at all.

You definitely need some money to get the fire started. BUT what you have right now is more than what others (money making IMERS of today) had when they first started. In my opinion, if you do not have cash in your card to use, this should not deter you from starting your career as an internet marketer. There are many ways that you can do in order to generate money (your starting capital for your main online business).

    Here are some examples:

    1. PTC websites - you do not need money to start earning from PTC websites. However, expect to spend months before you can earn your first $20-$50 per PTC website. If you are willing to spend that amount of time in order to generate money, then this is a good choice.

    2. Write - If you have talent and passion in writing, there are so many websites where you can apply as a writer. Example: iWriter, Odesk, Elance, etc.

Investing money is needed if you want to make good money online. It does not have to be big money, though. However, the more you can invest, the more chances you have to earn big.

Here's a classic example: You as a Warrior Member have the option to be a member of the general forum, or you can also choose to pay more (invest more) to be a War Room Member. By joining the war room, you will be able to have more resources to boost your knowledge in whatever niche/field you are focusing on. That knowledge will help you become better in your niche, which will eventually result to bigger earnings. I myself would love to be a war room member after I am able to get a good feel of what its like to be a member of this forum.

You do need money to make money online. One of the main reasons why people fail is because they don't want to invest any money and want everything for free.

You don't actually need a marketing budget but it sure helps though. If you have $100 to spend, you'll want to spend it wisely right? That means you have to see how much each of the requirements cost. If you find that you won't have enough left over after all the fees are paid, then you can't really do anything about it. You could get a part time job which supplies the marketing budget with a spare few dollars so that you always have enough money to spend.

I would most definitely build a list, you've heard it before, I don't need to repeat it again. A list is the best way to add additional income, it can build a base of avid reader and help you find success from writing emails and sales letters to promote products.

You can't make money out of thin air! You need to invest some in order to earn some. If you are planning to promote a product, at least you would need a website where you will promote, and that would require a min investment for purchasing hosting plan, domain name, developing it and writing content. Then you would need traffic that converts! Well, the story goes further... basically, yes you need money! Free stuff rarely works!

    It depends.

If you're willing to put some real thought into your business, position yourself well, and if you pick a niche you actually know something about and invest your time into creating content that people will read, you can build a business for just a few thousand dollars.

If you can't (or won't) do those things, you MIGHT be able to start one for 50 to 100 thousand.

I would assume it depends on one's skills.
If one has certain skills, he / she might not need much money to make money out of it
On other side people lacking skills would need money to make money. They would need to invest in learning first before implementing his / her learnings to make money out of it.

Well when I first got started I was paying monthly about $45. Then as time went on. I was using paid marketing. So my monthly cost was about $100. if I had to start again and had to focus on one thing only, it would be building a list. If you have a list you have an assist and that can't be taken away from you. List building is the way to go.
