Best way to advertise on my website?

So I have been working pretty hard and long on my current project. It is an eCommerce store geared towards young to middle aged teenagers but the products are age friendly. I was just wondering what my next step should be to work to get my first sale. I have put in around $20 towards Facebook ads over 5 days and have managed to get 75 page likes and a huge reach on a post that i decided to promote which offered an exclusive store discount. My next goal is to get my first sale, any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Try to find different sites, forums, groups, social media, etc. where people might be interested in products geared to young to middle aged teenagers and/or age friendly products. Learning a bit about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SMM (Social Media Marketing) may be helpful as well.

    Good luck.

Well thats the thing. I am attempting to market with social media. But cannot amass enough of an audience for it to be effective.

$0.26 per like is astronomical. And youre trying to sell to people who have no money.

I'd say you have the right idea and you're moving fast towards the goal you want. Just like me you have little kinks in your plan too, but that's OK because you will figure that out. I say go ahead and keep doing advertising because that is definitely helping, but try and branch out a little bit also to other places like using twitter, even Youtube because they're huge when it comes to traffic! Hope this helps a little bit, you got it man just keep it up!

Thanks for the positive feedback man. In this world, motivation and dedication are some of the key points to succeeding in this field. I am definitely going to keep spending some dollars here and there on different ad platforms until i get something that will hopefully do wonders for me!

Here is your problem. You are targeting an audience that doesn't have their own income. Not only do you have to convince this audience to make the sale... you have to convince their parents as well.

I truthfully believe that it does not play a HUGE factor that these younger aged teens do not have their own income. Being an 18 year old male with many female friends and younger sisters, they are always shopping online. Younger kids these days seem to have more and more money to spend. Maybe not their own credit or debit card, but i know for a fact that there are young teens and adults out there who buy plenty of products online. But then again, that is only my $0.02.

Maybe you can pay some teens to share your content on their own timelines. You might have to work through a social media agency to make that contact, but the exposure for your site could be very good. They would be sharing links to your pages as well as content from your Facebook page. For a teen who has a few thousand friends and shares something from your site, that could mean an instant traffic spike.

I have actually been looking into this. I was thinking of contacting individuals or offering freebies on my FB page in return for a product review on the eCommerce store and to share our page / products on their page. The only thing is that I can't ensure that they will keep their end of the deal once the receive the item.

If you're promoting on facebook then you need to try to make your fanpage content go viral, this way your facebook page will grow by itself.

As for making sales you need to find the correct marketing angle for your target audience. If it's a high quality product they really need then this shouldn't be too hard.

Give it some time and try different angles to see which one gives the best results and then focus on that so you can increase your ROI.

    Good luck!

Interesting demographic, for a marketer? Do they have credit-cards? Do they have PayPal accounts? How do they pay? How do you plan to monetize the site? "Just asking!"
