Squeeze page, product delivery, affiliates - confusion!

Hi Warriors,

After a good while researching I'm about to set up my first squeeze page which will give people a free report, followed by an OTO - with the aim of selling the OTO and more importantly adding that person to my list.

I need the ability to be able to deliver the download product after the squeeze page, have the person entered into an email list, have the OTO shown after they confirm the email and the possibility of tracking whether they came from an Affiliate URL.

Now of course I have read many options about this but I am also a little confused about what is best.

I have some ok WP experience so would prefer that platform.

I hear good things about Leadpages but they are a "premium" service as they charge a monthly fee. I also hear good things about Optimize Press but don't know if they are exactly suitable.

I hear Aweber is great for the email list.

I understand Clickbank can be used to track affiliates and deliver products.

What I am totally confused about is what to use/buy to put the whole thing together.

Your advice is appreciated!

What you are really asking is "How does affiliate marketing work"

Yep, you need to build a squeeze page. LeadPages and OptimizePress are two very good options if you have the investment. I actually don't know a cheaper plugin or service where you can build nice squeeze pages like them so I can't help there.

Next you want to integrate your squeeze page with your autoresponder. Stick to Aweber if you are just starting out. If you want to deliver your download eBook & your OTO right after they opt in. You will have to create your own page. I recommend just sending them straight to your offer while sending them the download to their emails.

Of course, there are many ways to do this and I know some people are against selling straight away but it's really up to you on whether you want an immediate ROI or not.

Lastly, in order to track everything like your clicks, opt ins etc You will need a tracking services. Clickbank only tracks where the sales are coming from. Not the opt in rate. Hope this helps.

    Hello,

Funnelkit is a good product to create all your pages in your funnel, and it's a WP plugin which you prefer. And Aweber is a good autoresponder, can't go wong with that.

The best practice is to use a simple redirect script to send people to your oto so every new subscriber is sent to the oto using your affiliate link. If you need a free script and tutorial send me a PM and i'll give that to you

As for your product delivery, you can send that in the first follow up in your autoresponder. Send them to a download page where you again promote your oto.

Thanks, you're right the question is quite broad but we were all Rookies once! Thanks for your advice.

Let's say I've chosen my WP suite that will make the squeeze page, download page etc. What do I use to track the opt in rate?

That's great advice and I like the look of Funnelkit, have you used it?

I guess I don't really understand the OTO part. I send them to a squeeze page, they enter email address, they confirm and get the free download as an attachment. On my site, after they enter email they go to an OTO page - what I'm trying to figure out is how they will pay for it, how they will then be given access to the download (but nobody who hasn't paid will have access) and how I track if an affiliate has sent them to my site (and I therefore need to pay them commission).

That's not a good method at all. It's much better for them to get an email containing the download link, so they can take the "free report" or whatever-it-is themselves.

If you send it as an attachment, a lot of people won't see it because it will go into their "spam"/"junk"/"bulk" box instead of into their inbox, and many of them won't ever know.

  • Sevenfortyfive,

First, ask your affiliate network if you can provide your affiliates with a unique dynamic affiliate URL. This is in order for your affiliates to drive traffic to any page of your website and get commissions for each sale of any of your affiliate products, including your OTO...

Second, from how I understand the things that you said above, you want this process: (1) For viewer A sent by affiliate 1 and viewer B sent by affiliate 2 to enter their emails to an opt-in form in your site, so as to get your free offer; (2) For viewers A and B to click a link in an email sent by your autoresponder to the email address that they entered in your site's opt-in form, in order to confirm their opt-in and get your offer; (3) For viewers A and B to be taken to a page where they can get the free offer and also where they can buy your OTO; and (4) For affiliate 1 to be credited with commissions for the OTO purchase of viewer A and for affiliate 2 to be credited with commissions for the OTO purchase of viewer B.

If your affiliate network can give your affiliates a unique dynamic affiliate URL, which they should be able to since affiliate tracking is based on referral cookie tracking anyway and since all the affiliate networks we closely work with do this, then the only thing you need to do is -- Ask the tech support staff of your autoresponder provider to assist you in how to do the three things that I said in my second paragraph above (4th item will be handled by your affiliate network). Hope this helps, and best of luck!

Yeah i'm using it and you can create nice squeeze pages and it's also very easy to use, especially if you have experience in wordpress.

As of your funnel i'm a bit confused, are you selling your own product as an OTO or promoting an affiliate product after people sign up to your list?

Apologies for the confusion - the giveaway and OTO are my own products. It's just that I may be using Affiliates to drive traffic to the site and therefore need to know when they did so and pay them.

I played around with affiliatewp plugin which seems good - just wondering if there's any better/easier way. I'm always happy with simplicity.

    First things first,

    1. To make sure you get the best results. I suggest you find out if your free offer is what your market wants.

I am not sure if you have taken this step yet but if you haven't you'll end up building a poor list.

Recently I made a new free video and I started driving traffic to my opt in page. I was getting 30-40% conversions on my squeeze page.

I wasn't happy with those numbers so I went back to the drawing board and done some more research on what my market wants.

I then change my free offer and I am now getting as high as 69% conversions on my squeeze page.

    Same traffic, different offer.

    2. Consider writing a follow sequence that builds a relationship with you list.

You can find out how to do this here:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/email-ma...bscribers.html

    3. Now I don't personally use OTO's in the IM niche. (I am not sure what niche you're in).

If you're going to use an OTO - be sure to make it match your free offer

Hire someone to write the sales copy for you. It will be worth the investment if you find someone good.

There are plenty of people on the forum write decent sales copy

The reason I say all this stuff is because it seems like your more worried about putting the pieces together when you don't have all the pieces yet.

Get all the pieces first then put it together.

Thats how I do things anyway.

Let me know if you have any questions

Very good point. I'm new to info marketing but I'm not new to business (I own a successful offline company) and totally agree about starting at the beginning not at the end. My issue is that I overthink things. I don't want to fall into the same trap of planning everything meticulously and then end up not even getting to launching it.

I want my product to be in the weight loss/strength training niche. It's something I happen to know quite a lot about, that I am passionate about. I plan to have a giveaway that is something of a basic diet plan and an OTO that is very specific (giving recipes, timings etc), so they are congruent.

How would I go about finding if my market would be interested in either of those before I spend a fair amount of time researching and writing both?

If you have an offline business in the same niche, you could try to target some of your current customers with the information you are planning to give/sell and see if they like it.

Unfortunately my offline business is in an entirely different niche and is B2B. That is my business but the specific niche I want to go into is my passion.

I guess I could ask people on blogs etc if they would be interested in reading it.

      Any other methods?

First, see what already exists. Check your competition and see what they are using for opt-in bait. Get on some sites in the niche and ask people.

    Hi,

You could make things really simple by listing your product at Warrior Plus.

You can track affiliate sales, create sales funnels (SUPER EASY) link to your
Paypal account so you can take payments, add payment buttons to your sales
    pages.

Plus automatically add a BUYER to your buyers lists and allow them to receive
their download links etc too by linking your email campaigns to the Warrior Plus
    system.

It just takes care of most of the issues you're currently having and is all in ONE
PLACE so you aren't trying to juggle lots of different things.

Take a look at Warrior Plus and see what you think.

    This is what I do:
    1. Squeeze Page for email capture.
    2. Send them to a thank you page (you can monetize this too)
    3. They double opt-in at Mailchimp
    4. Confirming the email address sends them to a new subscriber page which is also the OTO.
    5. Buy button on OTO page to paypal.

    That's it.
