CB Affiliate Question - pitch page to pitch page?

Hey everyone,

I've been researching ClickBank's Affiliate Program, and I'm a little confused about my place in the sales process.

Let me see if I get this correct; I make a site, write some convincing ad copy directing clients (via my Affiliate "hoplink") to the pitch page of whatever product I'm pushing.

My problem is the link I direct to.

Every time I click a product and view the publishers pitch page (the target of the Hoplink URL) it's embarrassingly amateur. Why would I bother to craft a professional and quality sales page only to redirect to a site that undermines all the hard work I put into the sale?

Am I mistaken? Can I sell and link directly to the ClickBank sales page with my affiliate code? Or do I have to link to the publishers pitch page first?

Just seems like a waste of time to pitch a client to a pitch page...
Thanks for the help,
ray

Maybe you should choose a better product to promote. If their sales page doesn't convert then regardless of how good your pre-sell is you may find you are pushing the proverbial uphill.

I don' think you can bypass their sales page but I may be wrong.

    Matt,
I found this thread by chance. This is the same issue/question that has been on my mind. Why introduce another pitch page in the process? Thanks for this.

    You wouldn't, Ray.

You should choose products whose sales pages are "professional" and "quality".

As an affiliate, you shouldn't need to produce a sales page at all. That's the vendor's job. As affiliates, we need to pre-sell. Vendors need to sell, and we need to choose vendors whose pages can sell effectively to our traffic.

You can, but don't forget that you need to build a list and communicate with your potential customers by email. Nobody's selling many ClickBank products without doing that. So as an affiliate, you need some sort of page (whether or not it's a squeeze page per se) with an opt-in.

Affiliates don't normally host "sales pages" anywhere.

But there are two "essentials-to-know" about doing it this way, which Matt hasn't mentioned, above ...

    (i) (For obvious reasons) ClickBank requires you to have to have the vendor's permission in advance, to do this, and ...

(ii) If you link to the order-page as Matt suggests, you won't be setting your affiliate cookie on your prospective customers' computers in the normal way (or at all), so - effectively - you'd be choosing to use ClickBank but without using their cookie system. I'm not saying it absolutely can't work, but for myself, I wouldn't dream of doing it this way simply because few of my customers buy at their first visit to the sales or order page, and I rely on ClickBank's cookies to earn me my commissions on all the ones who go back later, via the vendor's sales page. You'll be giving up your affiliate commission on all of those sales, if you adopt Matt's suggestion. That doesn't completely invalidate his suggestion, of course, but it's certainly something you ought to know, before deciding to try it!

You got to get your business model correct. You are running affiliate marketing which is mainly sourcing the best product available with good sales kit/funnel available. Secondly, drive targeted audience/traffic to the affiliate page.

Don't bother to spend too much time on your own product sale page. You are not running product creation business model.

Is your problem with the actual link? If it is, buy a domain name - They are cheap.
If your problem is the clickbank products sales page - Your pitch page is there to pre-sell the product. When the customer leaves your pitch page - they should be looking for the buy now button.
