Landing Page Typical ?

Hey guys,

So I'm trying to get into creating landing pages but I'm completely new to this part of online marketing.

I want to create a landing page, my question is when I do, does it have to be in it's own separate domain? Does it have to be a home page and not a sub domain /innerpage URL?

Also, if that's the case how do you deliver traffic to that SPECIFIC Landing page. I don't think Google Adwords or Bing would approve these ads no?

Sorry, just trying to figure things out.

Thanks!

    Hello,

You don't necessarily have to put your landing page on your homepage, you might as well create a subdomain or simply a page on your site.

You're right on Adwords about not accepting landing/squeeze pages, but bing ads shouldn't be too difficult to get accepted. Just make it a decent ladning page and don't make unrealistic claims and add a privacy policy and you should be fine.

But there are plenty of other ways to drive traffic to your landing pages too if you want to use paid traffic. It's not traffic really you should be ficusing on, traffic generation is easy if you can pay for it, it's more focusing on building a good funnel and increasing conversions to get a positive ROI.

It's all about starting small, testing and tweaking and then scaling once you become profitable.

Great answer. Thanks. Is there a source outside of WF that you learn from?

I plan to test a few campaigns soon.

Bing will be no problem to get approved. Adwords not so much.

I just create the landing page in a folder on my website then ftp the files there. That way its outside of wordpress and the theme of your blog or other content.

So if your website is http://GunsForHire your landing might be http://GunsforHire/FreeOffer/ or http://GunsForHire/Signup/ etc...

Otherwise you need a plug-in for word press that creates the landing pages inside wordpress for you. Either way the URL ends up being the same as above.

Plug-in such as optimize press or something right?
