Hi there,
I have a quick question regarding blog commenting. I was just wondering if anybody uses their keyword as their name? That way when people click on it it will at least have anchor text linking back to your site. Or do you have to just put your normal name in. Thanks |

Including a keyword is thought to give a better link back to your site ( if the link is not 'nofollow' )
The answer to your question depends on the site and the quality of the comment as to whether you will be allowed to do this. On some sites it appears to be accepted that the reward for making comments is to be allowed to use a keyword in your name eg 'Fred from Anxiety Attacks' On other sites, if moderated, doing this can lead to your comment being deleted - it all depends on the attitude of the site owner. What you say in the comment can help also. Being relevant with good content might mean that the moderator approves your comment on their blog whereas a quick "good work keep it up" type comment adds no value and will not help you. |

I recommend making a name for your site so that there's naturally your number 1 keyword there. Then you can use your site's "official" name in the comment and if your comment is relevant, I see no reason for blogger to not accept it.

I've definitely used my keyword as my name before. You'll find some sites allow it and others just won't post your comment. If you see other comments from people using the keyword as name approach that'll give you a clue as to whether it's allowed.
You could also keep an eye out for blogs that use keywordluv. On those blogs you can use your name and your keyword so you get the anchor link and they can still refer to you by name. |

Comments where the poster uses a keyword as their name makes it really easy to mark them as spam and toss them. It's nice when comment spammers make things easy for me. Very thoughtful of them.
On top of that, a lot of times I won't even see a comment where the poster is using a keyword instead of a name. Akismet seems to do a good job of catching those and tossing them into the spam bin. I would give something like "Fred from Anxiety Attacks" a little more leeway, depending on the comment. That is, of course, if Akismet hasn't already zapped them. But, as others have said, this kind of thing is very subjective and each blog owner makes their own decisions on what they do and don't allow. |

if the keyword is used as the user-name, there are chances of the comments being spammed.
It would be beneficial to comment with the actual user-name itself, would increase the creditability of your blog. |

If you are using keywords as your name to comment on peoples blogs, then in my eyes that is spam, some blogs allow it and some blogs don't, its down to the blog owner. Chances are if someone is using keywords as their name on a blog comment, the comment itself is probably not of that higher standard.
Just my 2 cents. |
