How To Track A Lead From Opt-In To Payment?

Hi,

How do I track (either using google analytics or something you recommend) to see where a lead come from... which pages on my site he or she clicked or visited... and when something is bought, how do I know the original traffic source he or she came from?

I guess I have to link up all my pages or something to see the "flow" of the customer?

If you have a great recommendation of a tutorial where they teach it in a click-by-click manner, that would be awesome! Thanks a million!
