A little success to share

Hello warriors, i just feel like sharing one short lesson i learnt lately so bear with me if you guys find it lame.

Sometime ago, i totally gave up on my blog. I thought it was a game-over as there were many IM mistakes. Secondly, i never saw any results even though i was working my ass off everyday. I totally left my website alone, never updated it, never did anything related to it for almost 2 weeks. While browsing the forum one day, i saw my thread saying that i want to give up. There was a reply saying "Why don't you flip your website?". This really got me motivated again! I thought to myself, some 200 bucks isn't my goal! What i really want is a stable source of income. --> The thread

Then.... I took action to rebuild my blog! I corrected all the mistakes that i knew of, updated it, wrote articles, built links, talked in forums, do all the usual back end work. Today, my blog surprised me with position 1 in google, yahoo and live.com search engines for my main keyword. This is my very first time and i'm really happy! Don't get me wrong here. I am totally aware that being position 1 on google doesn't mean you'll get lots of sales. However, what i can do now is to continue modifying my blog until it converts!

Two things that i learnt from this lesson. Firstly, don't give up till your last breath. Secondly, do not work like a madass. Keep things slow but constant. Example, updating one post a day and doing it for 30 days beats writing 30 lousy articles and uploading them in 3 days, just to feel demoralized when you do not see results on the 2nd week.

**The Terms of use and sitemap were the 2 last things i did that pushed me right up from 9th position to the 1st =D

To all the new warriors who are thinking of giving up out there, DONT! Persist on! I hope i can share my first sale news with all of you here soon!

PS: Any experts here can help me take a look at my blog and tell me anything else they think i'm doing wrongly? Please?

Excellent post. Thanks for sharing. It's like that old story in "Think and Grow Rich" when the guy who had the mine gave up a mere three feet before he hit the vein of gold. THREE FEET!

Slow and steady--the first time out--totally wins the race. Work smart, right?

There are plugins you can use that incorporate Google Analytics into your blog for tracking. Find one of them and use it. Just do a search for new plugins and type in google analytics to find on.

Then, quite mysteriously, when we came home I found I had made 3 sales while I was away. Unfortunately, I have no tracking software in my blog, so I have no idea where the traffic came from. :/

It's great when you realise that you're clicking with this IM thing and it's all falling into place for you, isn't it?

Now you have got the eyeballs on your eBook, I would give it another cover to make it look more appealing to potential buyers. I think the current one looks dark and lacks any contrast, giving it a kind of 'left in the gloomy recesses of the back of a cupboard' look. That's nothing that can't be quickly fixed, though.

    Well done you!

The fact that you felt compelled to share that is encouraging. I am not a big believer in The Secret type of stuff, but your attitude will earn you even more money. Thanks for sharing.

Two things that realized your success...

"Then.... I took action" and "don't give up".

Apply these things to what you do and you're guaranteed to be success.
