Hi,

(1). Try Vischeck.com on your webpage to see how user friendly is your site to people with color deficit of these types:

- Deuteranope (a form of red/green color deficit)

- Protanope (another form of red/green color deficit)

- Tritanope (a blue/yellow deficit- very rare)

Don't leave your potential customers behind, folks

Yes, so many sites fail the accessibility test.We see a lot of red text...a favorite of marketers.

I wrote an article a few years ago about accessibility for seniors. I think webmasters should start thinking about that especially since there are so many baby-boomers buying online now and that trend is bound to escalate over the next several years.

I find it interesting that you bring this up now, because I just saw my baby boomer Mom over the holidays. She was finally opening up to IM and asking me about what I'm doing.

One of her first comments was about how the baby boomers are some of the most powerful "buyers" right now and yet they are largely ignored or even mocked/alienated by a lot of mainstream marketing.

I completely agree that marketers need to start addressing this big group of people, especially now that - as you said - they are now buying online.

To the OP, thanks for bringing this up! I had honestly not thought about this before so you've increased my awareness.

Please also use large size type if your target audience is over 40. This is a great way to increase % conversions.

Hi fellow warriors, may I know what types of font size you folks are normally use for your blog/websites? I think type "Arial 11pt is too small.

Any reason for choosing a particular font size (e.g. because of background color, font color, ages of site visitors, etc.)?

        Please give your valuable comments..

Happy New Year 2011 to you all here.

Pssst....come over here, I got a secret for ya.

Open IE, and look at the lower right border of the browser. There is a magnification tool embedded there (this feature may be on other browsers too, but I don't use them all that much) that allows old geezers like us to make the text bigger ourselves.

Actually, she brought it up in June 2009, according to the post date - but it's still relevant

Or...just hit 'Ctrl' and '+' on your keyboard and watch the text size magically increase.
