For creative people who want money fast...CASH IN BIG!

Hi everybody,

A couple of days ago there was an interesting thread here on how to monetize the world cup football in Brazil using teespring. All you need to do is look for some special event taking place, create a t-shirt about it and target the correct people.

So on day 2, already something interesting happened: The Flappy Van Persie Goal

As the Dutch hammered the Spanish in a memorable 5-1 victory, top striker Robin Van Persie scored a memorable goal flying in the air. Now even if you don't care one single bit about football, you have to understand that moments like these are a big opportunity to cash in big. Here are some stats:

- There were 183076 tweets in 1 minute when this goal was scored.
- There were a total of 8.3 MILLION tweets during the entire game!

So for all you creative minds out there who want to make some easy money, i'm sure you can think of a way or two to use teespring and target the people who would would love to buy a t-shirt to memorize a moment like this. There will surely follow more the coming weeks

PS: If you have no clue or care about football, to give you an idea: this 5-1 vicory and memorable goal will still be talked about in Holland 20 years from now

The World cup event is a minefield of copyright and trademark infringements waiting to happen. Creative is definitely what you need to be to capitalize on this trend.

nice plan, but just like badlimey said you gotta be careful with the creatives and most ppl rather buy world cup gear in original.

    Genius idea man...

About 6 months ago I was on a training session with a major marketer... And was watching them launch some "Live" TeeSpring campaigns... And yeah man... T-shirts absolutely sell like HOT cakes... (It's actually quite ridiculous)...

And the big cup is a massive opportunity...

Anyone who wants to crack this code could easily grab a gold bar and run to the bank...

    Just my $.02

Take pictures you grab, throw them into inkscape and convert them to vectors. Then manipulate a little... and you have a cool image for shirts.

Once it is a vector you can do all kinds of manipulation to it, just using it as a pattern so to speak.

Inkscape is free, and to just trace and manipulate... most people can learn that in an hour.

Now if you take the image into photoshop first and for example just cut the guy out, you could then trace, and manipulate easier.

This example I didn't do anything but have it traced in black...

But within a few hours, most people could become a pro at making t-shirt graphics by using other images as a foundation, to create a vector image.

You have nodes you can drag, move, etc... So this isn't the greatest example, but good enough to get what I am saying. I don't sell T-shirts, so wasn't going to put any time into it lol. Just a quick trace...

Make sure you stay away from things trademarked names and logos etc...

An example of something... Sherman from the Seahawks... I took a photo of him, and added hair on the other side. Then traced it in inkscape, manipulated it some more, and had this...

        That's awesome!

All it takes is a little creativity to exploit the opportunities that are there now, and surely will keep coming the coming weeks.

It would be great if the US team could achieve something extraordinary, because the audience is really massive.

I agree, as you can seee the number of actively involved people is huge, and more importantly, they are very passionate about this. So if you can target these people you can really bank with this.
