If you want to write a 1000 article blog
you will need 4 years to do it if you write 1 article per day.
The great bloggers like john chow and shoemoney has more
than 1000 blog posts in their websites.

If you had 1000 blog posts or indexed pages on your site you would get floods of organic traffic if the content was up to par. Cool fact though

Neither do I (in spite of my being an article marketer). The benefit-potential isn't anywhere near proportional to the work involved. It would be a very poor use of my time.

I assume many people will not be able to write everyday and will miss some days and will not feel like writing somedays. so 100 days will be wasted. so if you are efficient for only 250 days at the end of 4 years you will have a cool blog with 1000 articles.
My point is that even if you are lazy you can create a 1000 articles website or blog within 4 years.

Most people spend 4 years in college to get a Bachelors degree, and 4 year is not a lot of time, so it gives me hope that it is possible for people to create a 1000 page website or blog if they write only 1 article per day and even miss some days.

There are less than 250 working days in a year.

Blogs like those you mentioned are online for almost 10 years.

I can write 50 articles a month so I would only require 20 months. I can write 3 articles in a day sometimes especially when I'm traveling where there are many things to write about.

Writing is a passion and you need dedication in doing so. I personally can write 3-5 articles per day or maybe even more especially when I am inspired. 4 years is a long time for 1000 articles.

Boy it is not one article each day, it is many articles in few days then they just schedule it to appear like daily. I know few marketers here they can write more than 20 articles a day... lol

That is how they make money. Plus not to mention out sourcing to ghost writers.

I couldn't. One article per day is plenty for me: they must have a different understanding of the word "article" from me, I think. (I suspect that some of them perhaps imagine that it's just a chunk of keyword-optimized text to which a backlink can be attached?)

Nope. That's how hundreds of people start off trying to make money, until gradually they all drop out in disillusionment, only for their places on the web to be re-occupied by another whole new generation of beginning marketers each destined to repeat exactly the same mistakes and misunderstandings as their predecessors, partly because it's what they'd all gleaned from posts in forums. At any given moment, there are tens of thousands of them about, doing exactly that, but very, very few of them are really earning much from it, at all. That's one of the many ways in which the high failure-rate in internet marketing becomes self-perpetuating.

You can't be SuperMan and do everything. Sometimes you need to delegate work to be more effective. This is the reason why most authority websites allow guest posting or are collaborative sites being run by people with the same interests or with an editorial staff.

Article writing needs to be consistent activity if you want to build organic traffic - yet many folk (including myself) cannot find the time to spending writing consistently every week - and then there are those who just don't enjoy writing articles.

I always outsource my article writing. Yes - with 1000 articles , that's going to cost a lot of money, but you can find high quality article writers who charge by the bulk (which actually works out to be cost effective). (i use 2 writers from Freelancer.com, but you can also try fiverr.com, odesk.com or iwriter.com).

It all comes down to taking a portion of your profits (that you may use for PPC advertising) & putting it towards the above cost.

My IM related MMO blog has 2,128 articles on it.

Know what my traffic stats for the site are this year?

      Jan 2014 3,212 8,794 24,564 28,699 4.13 GB
      Feb 2014 2,011 5,995 21,816 25,223 3.83 GB
      Mar 2014 2,445 7,030 17,955 21,324 3.53 GB
      Apr 2014 2,859 6,970 20,604 23,090 1.77 GB
      May 2014 2,992 7,336 22,894 25,300 1.90 GB
      Jun 2014 1,429 3,480 8,080 9,124 412.73 MB

That's it. That's all that 2,128 articles gets me monthly. The first column is unique visitors. Now I know, this isn't awful and if I put some more monetization into the blog itself I could probably do something with it. But after that many articles you'd think I'd get more traffic than this. This is pitiful.

As Alexa said, there are better ways to spend your time.

You don't have to write everything to come up with 1,000 articles. Some bloggers write great blog posts at first to build traffic and attract loyal readers and subscribers. Then they invite guest bloggers to submit their articles. Guest bloggers have to follow the blog owners' guidelines. These guidelines are intended to ensure that guest bloggers submit good quality content and that there will be no duplicate topics submitted to the blog owners.

If done right, guest blogging can be a win-win strategy for both the blog owner and the guest bloggers. The blog owner gets high quality content granting that the guest bloggers follow his/her guest blogging guidelines. The guest blogger gets exposure and a high quality back link assuming that the blog is popular and has a high page rank.

Great bloggers don't write 1000 articles to become great.
Great bloggers just have a great concept,
    write great content,
capture a great following because of that content,
get loads of free backlinks (recommendations) because of that following,
get loads of free traffic because of those recommendations,
make loads of money because of that traffic,
use the generated money to create even more great content,
which in turn captures an even bigger following,
    etc ...

Some well respected people in this thread ONLY think in terms of numbers, and complain they don't get anywhere.
    NOT great bloggers!
    I guarantee you.
