Have a couple questions about using paypal to accept payments.

Anyone know how to send an automatic email out with a download link in it when someone buys your product?

And does any know how to do upsells with paypal?

Let me know.

Thanks...

Not sure about the email but when you create the paypal button you can redirect canceled orders to one url and upon completion of payment send them to a different url might prove to be an option. Either to give them the product then or input their information.

Upsells would be your OTO One time offer pages. Get them in the door on a free offer and then upsell them on your one time offer page. Other then that not sure how else you would go about it with paypal and no scripting.

      Hey RK

Sean is right about the link you can identify while creating your PayPal button.

That link would be to the thank you page you designed to deliver the product you just sold and would contain your download link.

One possibility there is to actually turn that page into a OTO (one time offer page) instead of a thank you page.

At this point the sale is completed for your first product and you could pitch them again with the OTO but if you do it this way, remember to clearly link out to a thank you page if they don't want to buy the OTO.

Many people just place a "No Thank You" link at the bottom of the OTO page that sends the customer to the download page for the original product.

If they do purchase the OTO - don't forget to deliver both products from the thank you page that you then redirect them to from the OTO buy button.

That is kind of a condensed explanation but hope it is clear enough to be of some help.

      Regards
      Vince

Whatever you do, make sure that you make the entire process as simple as possible. I have something that I sell with Paypal and I can tell you that surfers *do not* read or follow directions. It got so bad I had to go through the entire process and take screenshots of everything and even with that about 10% of them still get lost.
