Hello warriors, newbie here, and in training to become a warrior. I've been lurking around for awhile and am ready to jump in. I don't know how much I be able to contribute in the beginning but with time I hope to give back what I have already taken out of this forum. Ever since reading the "Four Hour Work" Week" by Timothy Ferris ( hence my profile name ) I decided that one way or another I have to make the internet work for me. I know this forum has set me on a path to success. I wish you all, from my fellow newbies to the most advanced warriors, the best in 2009.

After so much reading I feel like I know a lot but I feel confused about a simple question. Does my domain have to be keyword rich or not? I have read some posts where that an obvious yes, but others where they state that it has completely nothing to do with search engines ranking. I know it needs to relate to the website but does it help with rankings or not.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Welcome to the forum ferris. I'm fairly new also and am interested in the answer to your question also. There is a wealth of Knowledge to be learned here and I'm sure you'll do fine. If you can check out Gail Trahd's recent post today. She's looking for 25 Beta Testers For her new site. It's purpose is to educate you in Im stategies and such and looks to be well worth it.

    Welcome Ferris!

To answer your question, it would be good
to get your name domain and use it to experiment.

I believe you can use it as your learning platform
    and get started right now.

For keyword rich domain, they are used for niche
    marketing.

For instance, dogtrainingtips.com can be for those
who want to go into dog training niches.

    Hope this helps,
    John
