Hello, I'm doing MBA, this year I have to Choose Major for my specialization, I don't talk with people much i'm kind of a Introvert, but I'm very much interested in Marketing and it's concepts, I don't like to do my Major in Finance, HR or Operations....

So for a person like me, Can I Land a Marketing Job..? If you think so, what kind of job is best suited for me in Marketing field..?

Good luck with your responses, but one could be forgiven for thinking that a forum-full of people with jobs would perhaps be a more useful place to ask this question than a forum-full of self-employed people?

I would suggest to do something you enjoy more than anything else, all the rest is of secundary importance imo.

Judging by your headline, the answer is NO. An internet marketer is different though. You can live in your parents basement and work in your undies and nobody knows or cares.

I was the same when I was starting out my online business. But marketing cannot live without networking and leveraging connections in order to make conversions and leads.

I suggest just keep learning what you have to learn in the world of marketing if you are passionate about it.

You will soon know enough if this career is for you.

But the more you learn, the more you will do.

When you do, naturally you will experiment and have to naturally network with others.

Im now a people person as well and now I love it!

I have met some of the best people online and have never met them in real life face to face.

You never know who you will be working with in this business and the potentials.

As a job though, this forum is for entrepreneurs and I dont think there is any difference whether you will open your own marketing business or find a career.

By the end of the day, if you find your curiosity to be a passion, it will always take over your fear of people naturally because you love the game.

Its like playing a team sport and being scared of injuries. Injuries may come, but the glory or victory and comraderie will always be at your core compared to the risk getting hurt.

ANALYTICS. I know guys making 150k per year by being able to analyze the data from a marketing campaign, and some of them aren't "great" with numbers (but it does help).

So, can you take raw data, analyze it and spit out some USEFUL information, if so, there IS a place in Marketing for you. And it is growing daily, METRICS are now an essential part of IM.

PS. Or phone sales, where you just have to read a script, although, prolly not as much moolah in that for an MBA,

      100% true...

Also remember that phone sales will let you work from the house (potentially the same with metric analysis)... So maybe this could be ideal?

Do what you like man. Forget everyone else and their opinion. (Don't want to be rude haha. I'm just giving you heart to heart life advice here).

Life's all about you. It's a one man show and we all must play the act.

I leave you with a quote from a show biz legend:

There are a lot of introverts out there who have trained themselves to be talkative when necessary (including me). You can develop your social skills the same way you would develop any other skill, by practicing. Once you get better at socializing you will begin to enjoy it and you will wonder why you used to be anti-social.

If you want to major in marketing then do it.

I'm answering from the point of view of your future employability - finance or hr are relatively high in demand skills. Even if you become an entrepreneur it's a valuable asset.

Ive seen some Introverts hate marketing after theyve tried it, and some find that it actually gives them an opportunity to grow.

Theres a lot of psychology and data analysis in marketing and this would probably appeal to many introverts, imo.

The internet has allowed introverts like yourself to become successful marketers without constantly having to go out and "press the flesh." Sounds like you lack confidence though. Never admit "I'm not good at..." and at least pretend to have confidence. Even the most outgoing people are faking it on some level.

Definitely. I'm quite the introvert myself but have managed to carve out a rather good living while NOT being in the IM limelight. eMail communications rock!

Being educated in something is not one tad of a guarantee you're going to acquire a liking for it. I would say stay out of the areas of marketing that call for PR skills.

So - what are your skills?
Are you artistic? You could learn to do ad design. If you look at pictures in ads they are very distinctly designed to convey images that will put the company/product into the viewers subconscious categories that create an idea of value.

Are you a wordsmith - not a problem. Ad writing/copywriting.

What about marketing strategy - being able to read the numbers and suggest the best target audiences for a product/company - and consulting on the best places to put advertisement of which types to reap the best ROI.

Serious - talking to people isn't really marketing, it's either Public Relations, Customer Service, or Sales. There's a lot more to marketing than those branches. Pick the one that you find the most interest in so you can be happy at what you do. Your education will be a waste if it leads you into territory you hate to deal with. I'm a writer and excel at what I do - the marketing end, even though I know what I need to do drives me batshyte crazy to have to deal with it. So - why would I concentrate on it? That's what outsourcing is all about.

You you can do everything you want but you have to be willing to put in hard work and elbow grease to reach your goals. If it's what you want than go for it.
I know a highly successful marketer who used to be a stutterer and now he is making decent money with his podcast and as a professional speaker.
