    Blogging is the definitely the way to go if you have an interest in the niche then that way your blogs will be engaging and interesting. In your blogs you could included affilate links to your products so you can make commisions off. It all depends on how much time you can put in and how much you want out of this. The sky is the limit and I wish you all the best. If you need a more detailed response I be happy to give you direction

      You can ask for advice from us, but the most "accurate answer" will come from your target market.

      Take the top 3 answers you find here if you like and test, test test.

      To find the answer that's best ... Test!

      And whatever answer the market gives you ... believe it!

    Social Networks are also a great way for traffic and if you have some money to invest, facebook ads is a good source of paid traffic. I personally like blogging combined with social networks.

  • For health related products I would suggest that you look at creating a blog/authority website and add content on your blog. Also look at submitting guest blog posts in other health related blog posts and make some comments on other people's health related blog posts too.
    .
    You should also submit unique articles to article directories and press releases, submit video's to video marketing websites, social networking and try and answer a few people questions on health related forums to build up your authority within the health related niche.

    On your website you should have an autoresponder service and like alvinhy suggest give away a free product and use this to build your list of subscribers to promote your products and within your free product market your paid product inside and create a OTO product for the visitors who subscribe to your newsletter to buy once they've added there details.

    Finally you could use pay per click advertising but make sure you keep it within a budget you are comfortable with and make sure that it converts well.

    It will take some time to drive the traffic to your website and get the sales you want but the trick is to not give up keep at it, keep working at driving traffic to your website and test which forms of traffic convert best.

    …cool to see you’re into the health niche. I hope you knowledgeable on topics you will be writing…

    In the Health niche, I think people like to read from health practitioners themselves. You will not find many people out there, I mean doctors doing freelance writing. If there is, their service will not be cheap.

    Because of this, you will want to see returns very fast. No doubt, it will not look promising when starting out. Blogging is not attractive here, except you’re an expert and will be doing the writing yourself).

    If you want to earn real cash in this highly saturated niche, you’ll have to promote high quality products that have high commissions. Therefore, set-up landing pages crafted by talented copywriters, and go the PPC route.

    All kinds of traffic methods can work for your health related product. If you do your marketing right, you can be a force in that particular niche. I sure wish Yahoo Search Marketing would come back as a separate entity from Microsoft Adcenter (Bing Ads). Got great results from them.

    But for some health related niches, i dont feel right selling them. For topics like fibromyalgia, chrons disease, and irritable bowel syndrome... morally it just doesn't sit right for me to sit down and write a hypey sales letter to make a sale.

    Getting traffic will ALWAYS be something you need to do for the life of your business.

    Your question -- and several of the responses here -- demonstrate a serious lack of understanding about getting traffic (and building an online business).

    1. Very important: there is no ONE "best" method. You need to use MULTIPLE methods of traffic. Focusing on just one traffic source makes you very, very vulnerable. If anything ever happens to that traffic source, you're out of business. Just ask Warrior Forum member Steven Wagenheim.

    Members advising "YouTube" or "blogging" are offering grossly incomplete advice.

    2. Several people here have recommended blogging. While blogging is a good idea, you still have to get traffic to your blog AFTER you've blogged!

    Blogging alone will not drive traffic. There are THOUSANDS of bloggers toiling in obscurity. They think the answer is just to "post more content." Uh, no. You need to spend 20% of your time creating content and 80% of your time PROMOTING that content.

    Some points about getting traffic:

    1. Basically, you can divide your traffic activities into two categories: 1) short-term and 2) long-term. You need both.

    Pay-per-click (PPC) traffic costs money and is GREAT for getting a jumpstart and seeing results NOW (like, in just 15 minutes). There are free traffic methods too, like articles, but they are much slower and are a more long-term traffic strategy.

    You need both.

    2. Focus on WHO your target audience is and go where they are.

    That is, too many people in the IM space focus on other IMers and give traffic resources that are really only for IMers, which is of NO help if your target audience is NOT other IMers or biz-op seekers! (Note the suggestions here on the WF. Almost every single suggestion assumes you're targeting other IMers.)

    That said, here's a list of 15 different traffic methods. It's not an exhaustive list, but it will keep you busy for a long time to come.

    1. Search Engines and Directories
    2. PPC advertising
    3. Your own e-zine
    4. Your articles on other e-zines and websites
    5. Ads on other websites
    6. Ads in other e-zines
    7. Online forums and discussion groups
    8. Recommendations by other e-zine publishers (cross promotion)
    9. Recommendations by other site owners
    10. Affiliate programs
    11. Your e-mail sig file
    12. Exposure in radio, print and TV
    13. Live speaking to groups
    14. Postcard mailings
    15. Social Media
    16. Joint ventures

    The mistake many Warriors make is trying to do it ALL. They end up exhausted, with no results.

    The key is to focus on just a handful (say 4 or 5) and do them over and over again. So pick the methods that best fit YOUR business and audience.

    Remember to include 1-2 fast-traffic methods and make the other 3 more long-term strategies.

    It's VERY IMPORTANT to understand the online marketing process first. Online success is pretty basic and follows the same basic process for everyone, no matter what niche they're in:

    Traffic > Opt-in page (to build your list) > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) (to follow up with your list) > Sales page

    A sample traffic list could look like this:

    1. Social Media
    2. PPC
    3. Direct mail
    4. JVs
    5. Video

    So those traffic sources lead to your follow up systems like this:

    1. E-zine/newsletter
    2. E-mail
    3. Direct mail

    Which then lead to the actual conversion (sales) points like these:

    1. Solo ads
    2. Teleseminars
    3. Webinars
    4. Direct mail

    These are where actual presentations and offers are made. They are generally the point of sale, where someone makes a decision to buy. To be successful with traffic, you need to reverse engineer the process and know where you're going before you start. Whether you're leading to a webinar, teleseminar or whatever will influence what traffic methods you use.

    With all of that said, here are some resources for learning how to get traffic:

    1. Kim Roach of MyTrafficMentor.com offers a good course for learning how to get traffic. Check out her information at Traffic LIVE!

    2. Ana Hoffman at Get BIG Website Traffic for Small Budgets | TrafficGenerationCafe.com also offers a cornucopia of traffic-getting help and information.

    For help with Facebook ads and general Facebook marketing, check out:

    3. Michelle Pescosolido of Social Media Mastery

    4. Ben Adkins of Evil Facebook Magician at Facebook Magician | Secrets To Getting Attention... Fast

    Beware: Often, traffic generation info is geared to other IMers, so they'll give you resources geared to that. If your audience is other IMers, fine. If not, be wary and choose people who can help you get the traffic you need. Don't waste time, money and effort getting unqualified traffic.

    Once you get started, you'll see recommendations for other resources. If it makes sense for your audience and business, then do it. If not, don't, no matter how bright and shiny the newest, latest, greatest offer is.

    Hope that helps!

    A simple formula that you can test is this:

    First, send your target customers to an attention-grabbing, enticing, impressive and compelling opt-in page with a free (or ridiculously inexpensive) downloadable "teaser" offer -- More on advertising your opt-in "teaser" offer later in this post;

    Second, a few of your target customers may land on your site's other content pages. When they get there, you must ensure your content should allow them to gain enough benefits that are relevant to what they want in your niche. These benefits should be able to make them think and feel that you're a friendly expert in the niche. Also, an attention-grabbing, enticing, impressive and compelling banner or video or whatever should be in those content pages and should point to your opt-in page;

    Third, your opt-in page should be able to compell your target customers to download your free or ridiculously inexpensive "teaser" offer, in exchange for their first names, emails and /or mobile numbers;

    Fourth, send follow-up emails that must provide your subscribers (target customers who download your "teaser" offer) with benefits that can supplement the benefits they gained from your opt-in "teaser" offer;

    Fifth, after sending a significant number of follow-up emails with relevant benefits for your subscribers, send a broadcast email to your subscribers. This should remind them that they can post their relevant questions, concerns, problems, issues and so on in the community support portal of your website, in order for them to get free tips, advice, answers and so on from you, from your staff of niche specialists or from other community members. This will be very beneficial for your subscribers. This will also allow you to get user-generated content for your site and significant user interaction in your site -- More on advertising your free community support portal later in this post; and

    Sixth, send a broadcast email to your subscribers that recommends your main product, then send follow-up emails again with benefits that can supplement the benefits they gained from your main product, then send broadcast emails again to remind them that they can get free support, tips, advice and so on from the community support portal of your site, then send a broadcast email that recommends a relevant affiliate product with benefits that can supplement the benefits they gained from your affiliate product, and so on...

    Now, for advertising your "teaser" offer and your free community support portal:

    Originally Posted by Af009 View Post

    Okay. Let's go with paid traffic.

    First, identify authority sites, blogs, Web forums, social network groups / pages and so on in your niche that are heavily trafficked by your target customers. You can do this with extensive market research, coupled with Technorati's top blog lists, Google / Bing keyword research and so on;

    Second, enter the URLs of the sites you found in Compete.Com, in order to get US traffic estimates -- This is if your target customers are based in the US. Otherwise, find a similar site that specializes in your target countries when it comes to giving traffic estimates;

    Third, go to the sites that you think would be best to contact for mutually beneficial ad banner placement deals, mailing list ad placement offers, advertorial posting deals and so on. Of course, try to sign them up for a deal =>> You can offer money, beer, kind words, services and so on;

    Fourth, create attention-grabbing, enticing, impressive and compelling ad materials and advertorial materials for the advertising deals that you manage to sign up with those sites;

    Fifth, go to PRWeb.Com and try to create effective press releases with other types of content (impressive videos, images and so on) that should comply with their specifications and should have attention-grabbing call to action links that point to your opt-in page or free community support page; and

    Sixth, integrate Facebook retargeting and Google / Bing remarketing code into your opt-in page and free community support page;

    Seventh, create attention-grabbing, enticing, impressive and compelling ad materials for Facebook PPC / PPM right-column and news feed ad campaigns and for Google / Bing search and display ad campaigns -- First create an effective Facebook page with the landing tab for first time visitors configured as your opt-in box and opt-in page content;

    Eight, implement Facebook PPC / PPM and Google / Bing search and display PPC ad campaigns; and

    Ninth, track your results, improve all relevant things, track your results, improve, track, improve and so on...

    That's it. Yes, it's simple. Easy, it's not. Cheap, it isn't. Welcome to the world of business...

    That would depend on your budget and the techniques that you will actually do. What I mean by this is, you can drive traffic in a variety of ways, especially in the travel niche. Choose the traffic generation methods that you will do consistently.

    If you love to blog and make youtube videos then go with that strategy. If you are better with consistent social marketing do that. The key is to be consistent and to give value to your target market.

    I happen to love to write and make videos so I would blog then make videos around each blog post. I would direct traffic from the videos to the blog posts. I would then submit the videos and posts to social bookmarking sites, Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus, at the very least.

    If I had the funds available, I would then find other travel sites in my niche and buy banner ads on them and see if the owners would also let me write articles with my link to post on their sites.
