Backpage Error Message

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and not a professional at all, so please forgive me my cluelessness
Since a few weeks I used to successfully post ads on backpage, and I also used the paid adverts there.
Since a week something changed.
First I tried to change my paid advert, but I couldn't, it showed the following error message:
"Oops, an error occurred while placing your ad. Email us at support@backpage.com for additional info. Please include the ad you're trying to place".
I wrote to the support several times, but didn't receive a reply.
In the mean time I tried various things - I changed my IP, I changed my email, I changed my text, I changed pictures - but I could not change my name and website URL in the ad....but no success. The error message still occurs.
Does anyone have a clue what to do? The best would be step-by-step instructions for dummies....

Thanks for your help.

Xx Abbie

    Hey Abbie!

When I use Backpage to post, these are usually the steps that I follow to post with no problem.

    1 - Go to Backpage.com
    2 - Post an Ad
3 - Click the Services category
4 - Click Business Opportunities Category
    5 - Select your city
6 - Use a short catchy title (I usually ONLY capitalize the first letter of the title)
7 - I write a short catchy description that is only 4 lines long
8 - I paste my link in the 5th line of the description
9 - Type in your location
10 - make sure your emails match

That's it! Don't touch the email inquiries or display options. . . they are already good to go

Scroll down and then hit continue. . and you should be all set!

I hope this helps you out!

      Thank you, Josh!

I just tried this exactly as you said, it didn't work. The eror message came up. It's very strange, all that. If only backpage would reply, but they do not react....

Big websites should have a full time customer service staff, but many don't. I don't know how to solve this issue. If you paid via Paypal, you might be able to file a complaint to get your money back.

I've just had exactly the same problem over the last 48 hours.

You email support and they just don't bother to respond, repeatedly.

I've wasted about 8 hours frustratingly waiting for a reply that never comes!

And my ads still won't post.

"Oops! Something went wrong. Email support@backpage.com and include a copy of the advert you were trying to post".

Why do they do this? (Nothing). Very unprofessional and extremely selfish uncaring company it would seem.

I think I got that error once when I tried to use a tinyurl in an ad. Maybe that's it or maybe their site just has a temporary glitch.
