Making money as the "middleman"

Lately, I've been seeing quite a few WSO that focus on "buying cheap" and "selling high". I've heard of marketers buying services such as content writing or logo design on Fiverr and reselling them at a profit. Is this a good way to make some extra money? I understand the concept but I don't want to sell garbage either and get a bad name....anyone have any success with this business model?

I have seen a lot of this lately as well, especially in the solo ad industry. There are a lot of people selling clicks high and buying them low. I guess I don't have anything against this strategy, but it isn't for me.

I do believe with the "buy low sell high" strategy, there is money to be made. But you are right, if this is something you are going to do you need to make sure the product/service you are delivering is high quality or else it is going to ruin your reputation.

Only get involved with that kind of arbitrage if you have the
    means to remain anonymous.

    Otherwise you are risking reputation.

I realize that one's reputation is at stake when dealing with cheap services...however, if dealing with reputable service providers, it's really no different than a contractor dealing with sub-contractors (example: construction). Any thoughts?

Assuming you are working by yourself, the cost in terms of time spent might be too high to turn a decent profit.

I have personally tried this back in the day and never really had much luck with it. The profit margins were way to thin, I never had much luck actually selling the service (or not enough to make it worth it). Plus, it took quite a bit of work. You have to spend time marketing the service, finding buyers etc. Then for every order you have, you then have to spend the time passing it on to the service provider, then pass it back to the buyer once the service has been completed.

    Wasn't worth it for me.

you can do it if you have a trusted group of subcontractors (for want of a better word) i currently have 3 web designers 2 graphic designers and a couple of copy writers that i use when im asked for work, they always produce quality work and my clients are mostly happy
