How to give away an e-book

I have a small e-book that is written for a Christian audience. I would like to give it away for free to those who sign up on my email list. I was wondering if anyone here had a thought of where I could advertise it? I thought of using the free e-book sites but the book is about 4 pages too short for them and I would rather the people get it through my site.

    You should look for forums where your likely audience will hang-out. These would be Christian focussed forums. Post an appealing thread there and offer the ebook to anyone that signs-up. You need to keep your post relevant to your audience to get the maximum opt-ins.

      There must also be a lot of FB christian themed groups that you could join and giveaway the book. Also search for websites in the niche and contact the owner for either a mailing to subs or offering the book to their readers.

    If you have something that will attract a lot of attention, you could try build a list of buyers from it. Find someone who is selling a product to do with Christianity and ask them if you can give it away you their buyers only as a freebie. You then create a landing page with a user registration (S2Member plugin for Wordpress). When they register for the freebie (link is on the other product's thank you page), they add their email address to your list. You can link S2Member to Aweber so they are automatically added. Boom, you got loads of buyers on an email list. You're welcome!

    Just remember when using forums or facebook, you don't want to come in hard selling, you should become a part of the community. Even though it's free, marketing too much won't get your far.

    Posting christain related content on social networks and interactive with similar users could be another great way to go.

    There are many ebook sites like Scribd and other archives online you can use to share your ebook. Also, the War Room on WF is great for sharing free ebooks.
