The exact process of domain /website selling

Who can tell me the process (step by step) that I need to do once my listing in Flippa is sold.

- What if the domain sold is an add on domain
- what if the domain is the main domain? (what happens to the add on domains under that domain)

- when the winner claims the site, how do we give him the website? Do we zip and send files to him?

Any video walk-through is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The steps you need to take will depend upon the hosting service that your domains and site sit on. Contact your host. Read their FAQ about transferring domains and sites. If they don't have a FAQ, send in a support ticket. The host knows what to do . . . people here on the forum will not necessarily know the steps unless they have the same host and have moved their own sites before. Why not go to the authority?

Thank you sbucciarel but don't you think there is a simpler way of doing it ? Something like a two or three step process ?

Sure there's a simpler way. Hire someone to do it for $20. Get Wordpress Duplicator if the site is Wordpress and just clone it on the buyer's server (you'll need to read those instructions in the plugin). You still have to transfer the domain.

The pdf takes approx 15 minutes of your time. Anything else will probably take 15 minutes of your time or more trying to figure it out and asking questions.

    1. generate a back up of your site in case shit happens. export your site's database using phpmyadmin.
    2. push the domain to your buyer.
    3. ask him/her to point the domain name to their hosting server (mostly using DNS change).
    4. ask him/her server info, login, add the domain as an addon, create a database for the site, remember the database credentials.
    5. upload the site files to the domain folder.
    6. change wp-config.php database info according to the one you just created.
    7. import the original database file to the new database using phpmyadmin.
    8. it should be working.

search on youtube, there are loads of related videos.
