Well, let's start with the good things you have going now. I see you have a list of restaurants organized by state and the ability to see a map. If I were a person looking at your site, what would be valuable to me? How do I know which restaurants are the best rated? If I am a vegerarian, how do I find vegetarian restaurants?

I think you need more functionality, and then you may start to be able to get some people using your site. Then you can think about selling more advertising as your site becomes more useful, and grows in traffic, as usefulness and traffic do tend to go hand in hand on a site like yours.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Interesting website, and you do have a challenge.

The challenge emanates from the classic mistake of building the website before you have a business model. Having a business model from the start of the concept would have likely guided your way more clear, than the point of which you are finding yourself now.

Since you do have it built however, you must now decide where your money will come from. Paid restaurant listings? Adsense? Download e-report? Maybe, but I am thinking more along the lines of hooking up with a major affiliate like a Diners Card or Credit card that offers frequent diner points.

On a side note, Black background for anything related to food does not inspire hunger or confidence. You should emulate some of the warm colors reds, orange, browns that are traditional hunger triggers and widely used.

Also, there is a lot of text on the front page that I would try and scale down. Since this is primarily a search site, try to use the Google simplicity. In addition I see that your claim of 500,000 restaurants in the database seems to be an exaggeration, especially when you look at categories like diners, where there are only 4! Don't risk losing credibility right off the start. You have enough already, to not have to make unreasonable claims.

The site would look good if I were looking for a funeral company. You need to "spice it up".

The problem with your website is that there is absolutely nothing that makes it unique among thousands of other similar sites. What do you have to offer that... Yelp or Google Local doesn't?
