site with global revenue/sales broken down

Hi guys can you recommend a few sites or pages that have publicly available figures for different types of products and services that you can drill down into, for example amazon.com has best sellers and rankingss but i don't recall them giving anythign like gross figures for games or books or dvds, ideally i'd like to see the big picture of how much money is being spent in what big niches, and hopefully to also be able to drill down, perhaps via another site to find out for example what specific category and even products are best sellers. For example i jsut learned that Grand Theft Auto sold $800 million on the first day! Would sure like to know what's hot and soon to be released to
get some ads out there for launch day. smiles.

Why would any company give this data away? I mean, they would basically be telling their competitors exactly how to compete with them more effectively.

Sorry, i meant sites that have statistics, you like sites that track various industries like we have sites that say x million was spent in 2014 on dvd but
books sold 3 times as much, and then there are also sites like the one i
mentioned in my first post that says grand theft auto sold $800 million on thr
first day, or Angelina Jolie's Tomb Raider 5 is expected to earn x revenue.

So what i was asking is what sites do fellow warriors use to track what's hot
that provides figures - i try amazon bestsellers but they seem to have a lot of
things i've barely heard off, or mundane items like jump drives which sold a lot of
volume but this in in total over many years not 2013 or 2014 sales, so i'm more
interested in sites that track what's sellign well now, not total sales fromt ehproduct came out.

There really isn't any definitive source for this at the product level. Companies often post press releases making these claims (called 'forward looking statements' if they are public) but there isn't a comscore type database of product-specific projections that can be searched by category like that.
