Website vs Online Business

Hey warriors,

First wanted to introduce myself ... My name
is Greg, I'm 24 and I've been in online business for
4-5 years now.

Some of you may remember me from working
along side fellow warrior Daniel Taylor.

We have recently split our partnership to pursue
our passions and I wanted to join here and add
some input and learn a thing or two!

I wanted to get some feedback on what you guys
think of the idea of a website vs an online business?

In my eyes:

Website being an IM type product: Sales letter, trigger
emotions, get the sale!

Online business being educate customers, utilize offline / online
marketing, offer multiple products, expose product to media, build
long term wealth, and gain repeat business.

I come from e-commerce and offline business so
in my eyes, you need many different income streams
and marketing angles.

Opposed to setting up a website and using affiliates, PPC,
articles and SEO are there any other ways IMers market?

I was always a firm believer in offline marketing and
advertising used along side with online marketing
- utilizing postcards, follow up calls, fliers,
promo t shirts, magazine ads, business cards, radio
ads, complimentary JV's, etc - along with PPC, long
term SEO, articles, affiliates, reviews.

Now getting into the IM world, I see many people
making a killing using mostly all online marketing.

It still amazes me how these guys making 3 million
in a day are not internationally known and plastered
all over the media - like an offline business type
dreams about!

I have seen squeeze pages and sales letters for some
time now and notice they do not change much.

I was wondering if you think that adding more marketing
angles and more information on the site would add to the
longevity and increase in revenues on these IM type product
sites.

In my eyes, many IM product websites get prospects to
visit, try to trigger the right emotions and get them to
buy immediately. Therefore, if they leave the page there
is a good chance they won't return.

I see alot of sites eating mainly from clickbank but once a new
site comes out and they move to page 2, the affiliates and
sales go away.

Do you think it would add more value to set up a free
training section on your site (educate and tell the prospects
that they want your product) and also attract prospects
using multiple marketing angles similar to the ones I mentioned
above?

Or does the old school sales letter and emotional sale make
the most sense and long term profits.

Should I focus on building a sales letter, gaining sales and
then moving onto a new product and rinse and repeat?

Just looking for some advice here on how to approach IM
type products, because my world is much different!

Thank you all and I look forward to adding value to the WF and
also learning a whole bunch!

See you all at the top,

Greg
