If you guys want to know what Wordpress plugins the top sites are using, type the URL into this search engine here --> wpthemedetector.com. Detects theme and active plugins. Free tool for newbies like me who can filter through the millions of WP plugins out there lol.

    Lol great info!

If the top sites are using them it probably would be a good idea to have them on a wp site.

    I'm getting this error
Uh-oh, something went wrong: x509: certificate is valid for cloud.proyectica.com, not WordPress Theme Detector - Free online tool to find a site´s theme
If you know what you are doing, tick the ignore certificates box. Otherwise please try again!

hm wonder why you are getting an error? I'm pretty sure if the search engine doesn't find a theme then it will still detect the plugins. I've just been searching sites I have been to recently.

Wow this actually is pretty cool. I am not a newbie but I still find this pretty awesome. I knew how to easily find the theme but the fact that it actually shows you the plugins as well is pretty awesome.

Does it detect plugins not in wordpress plugin directory? Most of my favorites are actually bought from codecanyon.

The most common plugins I saw between 3 sites I searched were Wordpress Yoast SEO, W3 total cache, Next gen gallery, google analytics, and SEO. So not sure if those are strictly in the Wordpress directory or not but I do see and read about a few of those quite a bit.

I ran it on one of my sites and it detected 8 of my 19 active plugins. Some that it didn't detect:

      Akismet
      Bulletproof security
      Google XML Sitemaps
      Pretty Links

So not sure how it scans the plugins but it definitely doesn't cover everything. Probably won't get some of the lesser known plugins since it couldn't get these. Still cool to check every once in a while.

Yeah it always seems to detect only 6 for me whenever I run it lol. It's the most commonly used ones pretty much like jetpack and the main SEO plugins. Its cool that it tells you if its a custom theme or not too. I think it will come into good use when I and some others start their websites and won't have to spend hours picking plugins in the beginning.
