Default How To Edit Avi Files

Alright guys

I have got a few avi files that I want to edit.. I want to remove the exisiting aduio and put my own audio on it..

I am using either Camtasia Studio 5 or Windows Movie Maker. But I cant seem to be able to remove it


Can anyone help please??

You can get SonyVegas on a trial, import your .AVIs and
it will separate the A and V tracks. Use something like
Audacity to record your new audio while watching the
.AVI with the sound off, then replace the audio track in
Vegas with your new voice-over, and render.

That's a free way to do it. Vegas is worth paying for though.

Also you can use Sony Sound Forge... it will let you open an AVI and strip out the audio and save it as a seperate file if you need to. It has a free 30 day trial as well.

Just open the video file then save the file from inside Sony Vegas and choose WAV or MP3 as the format. Now you will have a copy of the audio file as well as your original video.

This is easy to do with Camtasia. Open up the avi (file > import media), then select "voice narration" in the task list, then record the new audio track. If you record it on audio track 1 it will automatically overwrite the existing audio.
