Multiple Wordpress Themes on 1 Domain? Can it be done?

Does anyone know away of how to use Two Wordpress Themes on one base domain.

For example, if I have the main domain

--mysite.com and a sub-domain, mysite.com/newsite.....
i would have Theme 1 on mysite.com
and Theme 2 on "Newsite"

I'd like to be able to post to both, but on 1 main login. Is this possible or some variation there ofr?

You can install Wp on your main domain and in the sub-domain and use a different theme on each as they would operate independently.

As far as having one login to access each, not so easy. You could try using WP-MU. Or you could just use 1 install and have "newsite" be a page of the 1st WP install and alter/customize the theme coding to look different on certain pages. Not so easy to do and would be kind of complex as far as keeping the sections/content different between the two.

All in all, it would just be easier to login to each area independently.

look at wordpress mu and you could do exactly what you stated you want to be able to do... or wait for wordpress 2.9 or 3.0 when mu is merged with wp

I didn't know that mu was being merged with wp, that's pretty awesome news.

Yes - that would be perfectly possible as long as they were on separate instances of WordPress. As Greg has said the single login might be a problem - it would be cleaner and carry less risk of problems to have separate logins or use WordPress MU.

You can also have different themes on different pages of a single instance.

In this case the cleanest method would probably be to create separate style sheets for the pages you want to be different and update the 'link rel' line in the header area with the appropriate stylesheet name.
