Hello Warriors! I'm a newb on here and to the whole world of Internet Marketing/blogging and whatever. I have about a thousand questions, will spare you all and just ask for some advice on Backlinking and generating traffic. I have a new blog on Wordpress and have signed up for Clickbank, PayPerPost and ReviewMe. Since I know nothing about Website building, Seo's, and Web 2.0... I'm gonna need alot of help. So far all I have to offer is tons of time (thanks economy) and passionate precise blogs. Thanks in advance! |

The best advice you can get is to search the forums. I am sure it's been covered in great length many times. |

| Warrior Member | That's what I was thinking, but I have no idea what I SHOULD be blogging about considering I have not received any offers. I could blog about random stuff all day, but I'm not sure it will attract any offers if I'm writing about how much I love pizza.

Welcome Spenny, You mentioned that you signed up for clickbank. You might trying blogging some articles about topics directly related to some of the affiliate products and link the subject or key words to those products. |

Master one strategy first and then branch out. Don't get distracted by all the different products found on this forum. Stayed focused, otherwise you will mostly likely go into information overload and get confused. This is what typically happens to new Warriors.

Hey Joan thanks for your advice. If I was to try and do some affiliate marketing for traffic generator software or something like that do you know a good starting method? Is payperclick or paying for traffic the only way to do this? I would love to start doing it with zero money invested and rely on persistence and hard work. Oh the irony in this post

| Warrior Member | I have done this but my blog traffic is like zero right now. I need pointers on how to increase it other than filling it with content. Is there a way to stir people there without forking over any money?

Hi Spenny, Welcome to the IM world. It's nice that you already have a blog. You have your blog at WordPress.Com or WordPress.Org? WordPress.Org is self-hosted. You should have a domain and a host to use this. If you are using WordPress.Com, don't use payperpost or clickbank links on it. You cannot monetize WordPress.Com blogs. Now if you are in WordPress.Org, you must be having a domain. What domain did you choose and why? Did you choose a domain name based on one of your interest? If so, start writing about it. It must be very easy for you since it is your interest. If you have registered a random domain name, I'd say choose the topic that interests you and then start blogging instead of writing just about everything. Read some of the top blogs' most popular posts (like ProBlogger.Net, CopyBlogger.Com) Also browse through this forum. Or use the contact form in my blog to contact me (since you don't have enough posts to PM me) and I'll give you free blog consulting for 30 minutes. Good luck. Ramkarthik |

Hi Spenny, Welcome to the forum. You will definitely be able to find a lot of useful information here. You might want to decided on ONE main market that you want to focus. Once you have decided on the market, you will know the kind of content that you should be posting on your blog on a consistent basis. With the content that you have, you will also be able to repurpose it as articles and use the article marketing method to drive traffic to your blog or website. Learn more information from the forum and most importantly take action on it. All the best ![]() Zack |

I did create a blog on Wordpress.com but I WAS able to put clickbank links in it too. My links are included as text in articles and in my blogroll, but the blog is unfocused and more of a practice run. It's basically a personal blog. I am planning on creating a whole new blog with some actual direction, but want to make sure I have an niche, strategy and preferably some good products to market. It seems like the products that are actually good or marketable for me (i.e. certain IM tools & Product Reviews) don't need help from a newbie like me though, so I've kind of hit a roadblock. On the other hand, my current "unfocused" personal blog seems to be geared towards Arts & Entertainment and Music. These things definitely are my passions and I would love to figure out how to make money writing about them, but IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE? I have a feeling if it is.. it's gonna take a whole lot of experience and internet marketing know how... Networking?! Any advice?

There are three courses of actions when trying to determine what to write about. The first is to write about what you know. When you can write about something that you are passionate about, it shows. Not only does it show in your writing, but it's fun to write about it since you like it. It makes it less tedious. The second is to write about what's popular. Google trends, ebay pulse, yahoo buzz, all of these sites give you insight into what's popular at any given time. The third is to write about a product that you're trying to sell. Write about the product itself, review it, write about how it can benefit the reader. All of the three can prove to be successful, but the most important thing to remember is consistency. Make it your goal to remain consistent with whatever you choose to write about. |

The more general it is , the harder it is to be successful in such a competitive field. For example if you like blues music, write only about blues artists. If you like a specific type of art, say impressionism, write only about impressionism. Just my 2c

Spookylilgir-- Congratulations on taking this first and exciting step into the world of IM and making money online. In you original posts, I hear an echo of who I was a few years ago, when I arrived here. Even now, there are moments where I feel like I don't quite "get it." I'll turn to this forum, PM, someone or buy a WSO and then all of a sudden I feel like Homer Simpson and think "D'oh! Of course!" When I first started with a blog, I started with AdSense. I started blogging about one topic. Little did I know that the topic that I thought about blogging about was an excellent money maker via AdSense. Only after I had a strong and loyal following did I attempt to monetize my blog in other ways. If you are starting out a blog, you need to develop the trust of your readers first. Hold off on overly monetizing it at first. The greatest lesson that I learned in blogging came from someone else who was writing about the exact same topic that I was. I wrote and monetized whenever I could. He, however, decided not to throw up AdSense until he had a specific number of visits each day after a specific amount of time. And once he hit that "magic number" whatever it was, he was able to monetize the heck out of it! BUT, first and foremost, you have to FOCUS. You have to figure out a niche to write about, a niche that you can become an expert in. You have already discussed information overload...so I will stop right now. But if you want extra help, please do not hesitate to PM me. Blogging was how I first entered the IM world...and I have since branched out from there. |

Since you already have a Blog, you're well on your way. It took me a lot longer to get me blog together than I thought it would. There's a Warrior I worked with back in late `09 his name is Steven. He offered great blogging tips. His headline was SuperSimpleBlogging. I think he offers 1-on-1 coaching now, so his freebie stuff might not be available anymore. If it is, you should connect with him. He's very knowledgeable and does a good job at making easy to follow instructional videos. Good luck, |

1. Write articles. Then post them to your blog to add content to your website. That is on- page optimization for high ranking on search engines. You can also post your articles to article directories for backlinks and also drive visitors to your website or blog. Posting to article directories will quickly raise your ranking with search engines. Remember to include links that will point to your website. Good article directories include EzineArticles.com, Buzzle.com, GoArticles.com, ArticleBase.com, and others. You can open an account for free in these directories. READ the rules for submitting articles. 2. Visit other blogs and drop constructive comments. Leave a link that will point to your website. That is a backlink. 3. Trade links. You can request link exchange with other webmasters, which are relevant to yours. 4. Forum posts. Posting helpful links to relevant forums will also boost your backlinks. There are many other ways to build backlinks. But I think these few will help. To your success.
