Hi,
I am starting my internet marketing business, and I have a question, I don't want to use my real name, I want to use a not real name, the authors also use psuedonyms
What do you guys think of that?
Thanks

    Why not?

Depends on what country you live in, but in the UK for instance, you would have to have to make it known that you were ... for instance, "Joe Smith trading as Peter Green" - This could be put on the website somewhere not too noticeable. You could set up a private limited company when you start generating the income you want, to protect yourself.

I would check the question online related to your own country though.

I don't want to mix my current offline activity with my online one, this is a very short sentence but are you able to understand the point? If you have another successful activity you might understand me. If you think it is related to fraud or any other illegal activity, no that is not the point, I will be the same professional with same honest mentality

If you want to stay for the long term, be a brand, known by your name, I recommend using your own name.

I was not sure about using my real name for a long time as I don't have an English-friendly name but then I saw a lot of well known foreign people using their own name so I decided to stick to my name and I am happy with that now.

You couldnt have said it better Nail Yener, cause in this industry the only you can make people know you and trust you is by branding yourself.

Moreover, people buy more from those they know and trust.

      Hope that helps

This is questionable... But my question is more on legal point of view

As I said I have nothing to hide but I will not use my real name because of the reason explain above

    What are:

    Your objectives, strategy, tactics?

Who is your market? Where is your market?

Without knowing anything about what your "business" is, and what you want to do, it is not possible to advise.

Oh... and is "popey" is your real name? If not, it might be a good idea to use it on the forum; it can look like you're trying to hide for some reason

are you those paranoiac persons that believe that anyone wants to do fraud? you didn't even read my second reply about the reason why I would be interested in doing this

do you believe an author that uses a pseudonym is hiding something?

actually the final goal is to not use the real name but be the same person with same principles, do you get that?

I don't want to use a nickname but a very similar name to my real name

A pen name, can it be? Or does it have some specific rules

I don't see a problem with using a pen name for your online business, although receiving payment may be a bit tricky. Paypal, for example, shows your personal name unless you set up a business account with a business name instead.

It's fine, quite alot of famous people have sudo name that they use instead of their real one.

As long as what your doing is legit you'll have no problems.
