Can you really make money other than with teaching ?

Hi all,

It seems to me that very most guys making money online do so by "teaching". So they teach others how to make money online. They explain how they made $12345.678 in one day lol. Or they teach how to be a great entrepreneur in 21 days, or teach how to blog etc...
Are there any ways, blogging or other, to make money online other than tricking people to believe that by buying their $47 guide they will make a bomb blogging, or trading forex or stuff ?
Is it the only real way you can make money online, or can you make money blogging about your passion (gardening, planes etc) ?

Of course! Teaching is not the only way to make money out there. And just to tell ya there are marketers who make a killing with the stuff they are teaching and there are also marketers who are selling the hype. It's on you to see what's the real deal. Always have a look for testimonials or reviews from no affiliates of the product for example. Also if people claim they can show you how to make 50k on the weekend then better run and run fast.

Just have a look at some good blogs out there do you think most of them blog for just for fun? I don't think so. You can make money with blogging as well as with videos or other stuff. Just learn what it needs and be consistent.

Hey man! Absolutely there are other opportunities out there, these guys just know the insides of the systems that they use on sites like Facebook and twitter and stuff where they get tons of people to like their page because they're targeting a specific audience! They're not tricking people into buying their guide, at least not all of them are. They're trying to get you the information you need, and organization that you need in order to take your IM to the next level! You've got the right ideas man so keep the wheels spinning in your head, but start moving forward with certain ideas. Like the idea of posting on social media and such to get people to watch your videos/like your pages and stuff!

Good question... I'd guess a huge percentage of guys on this forum would be out of business if it wasnt for the teaching "how to" format of business. Probable 80% of their income comes from that model. I am sure there are some people who make money other than the typical be an expert model, but, they are few and far inbetween.

I'm assuming that you are talking about "information products"? Almost *all* information products teach something. You don't want to teach? Get in line at Alibaba and try to get your hands on some PS4's from a supplier in China.

Yes, you can make money online but it wont happen overnight. It takes a lot of work and effort. However your lucky because there are so many ways to earn. I earn enough money to quit my full time management job last month and thats from two different forms on internet streams. A lot of time and effort been put into and the other doesnt require a great deal.

The trick is to understand how much you want earn, how you want to do it, how much time can you put into to making this happen. It took me 1month to sort myself out but after that i started to earn residual income.

My advice to you if you want to start earning. Find a profitable niche and get traffic to your website, from there you can sell products. (Affilate marketing)

If you can be bothered with that then look at something like doing jobs for people and getting paid for it. If thats not to your fancy then look to do something like me and join a facebook group and earn money for doing so.

I got tons advice for you. But only offer it if you need it/want it.

Are there other business models from selling information products - sure!

But remember, the internet doesn't "owe" you a living...you need to offer something of VALUE (or at least perceived value though that only gets you the sale once if you don't deliver the value) - what could that be?

    1. Teaching or Expertise as you mention above...you can monetize this as ebooks, training programs, consulting or even via advertising where you share your teaching on open platforms in exchange for eyeballs that then click on ads (Ex many html tutorial sites). By the way - there is tons of money in other fields than Biz opp or make money niches...many of us have skills, experience or the desire to research a topic that can help others.

    2. Tools, software, templates, etc...that help people become more productive or achieve desired outcome faster, easier. Here you are not teaching, but creating platforms for helping people do things

    3. Improved search or knowledge on given product category, The top performing Amazon affiliate sites offer value by designing sites that easily allow customers to compare features against each other on their way to a buying decision. Again, the key is that you are offering value, not just trying to "game" the search engines to hit your site first without any key value or differentiation. You can game the SERPS for a time, but this doesn't last and it's not how top affiliate (physical products) are making the big dough

    4. License physical products and sell them online...I did this with Yoga gear for a couple of years before selling my business - licensed mats, balls, etc...from supplier and sold them online to regions that had no other access to these products. This is a tough space and requires some serious diligence, but it is do-able and is done quite often with online businesses.

    Of course.
    • Sell services
    • Sell software
    • Sell physical products
    • Sell advertising

If you think the majority of people making money online are doing it by teaching via "how to" products, you have a perception problem. The internet is a big place. Take a look around and accept internet marketing for what it really is...marketing via the internet.

Sure, people make money by selling "how to" information products that teach people how to make money, live healthy, improve relationships, etc.

But the ones who make the most money (regardless of their market or their business model) are the ones who understand MARKETING and use the INTERNET as a medium to get their messages in front of the right audiences.

Yes, of course you can make money online without "teaching" as you call it. But like you say, making $50K in one weekend, don't come close to them.

While some are charging and there is justification to it - they organize the material with the information in such a way that it becomes easier to follow, or the material is packed with some awesome actionable content which you can follow step-by-step but becoming rich overnight is absolutely false.

You can offer services, consultancy, create products that solves real problems of your users, make money from ad banners.

But blogging in itself is all about teaching your readers, solving the problems of your readers and providing them with real solutions.

There's tonnes of ways to make money online. Teaching is only a small section of it. There's niche websites, authority websites, list building, affiliate marketing, CPA marketing etc. It's up to you what you want to choose but don't assume that teaching is the only one. The reason why teaching is so successful is because of the overall hype they receive.
