Well I guess posting here helps!

Have you tried other forums and places like that? Off the top of my head:

    inbound.org
    black hat world
    seo chat

Twitter is a good place IMHO to get your content into the hands of more powerful bloggers who can basically hit retweet and send you massive traffic. I did it last week and got featured in SEO Round Table and Matthew Woodward, combined traffic was pretty sweet and will be doing it again.

That's a great post by Noah Kagan's company. I noticed that INFO GAP types of headlines get traction in social media. I try to implement that in my own text.

Going viral involves a lot of luck sometimes, such as having the right content and posting it at the right time, in the right place, with the right description/keywords. If it were easy, we'd all be going viral everyday.

Not really. In fact, the argument could be made that there is NO SUCH THING AS VIRAL CONTENT. What makes content 'viral' is that you get it in front of the right eyeballs. That's right-you get your content in front of INFLUENCE LEADERS in your niche. The good news is you can use Twitter to do this... EASILY.

Time for me to start writing way longer posts than I usually do. I really need to get more organic traffic from Google.

The main component of viral content is LUCK.

You can plan for virality all you like but you'll more often than not notice those who plan for it almost never go viral and those who go viral are mostly those who never planned for it.

You can't go through life expecting to be lucky or relying on luck. You need to take control. According to studies by marketing companies, almost all 'viral' content go 'viral' only when they were pushed by influencers on social media. This is where the game is. Not getting lucky.
