Does anyone know of another product similar to DL Guard that's a little less expensive?

    Yes...here are 2 that can get you off the ground running...

    1) Free: Zaxaa.com. They also provide a free Membership Plugin. You pay them a small percentage of each sale. The hosted solution is the easiest way.

    2) Mid-Level: Membersonic WordPress membership plugin: Currently on sale for $37 and normally sells for $167. WSO ends today so don't sit on it too long.

    This is a little different approach.

    It's a monthly service. Their basic account is $5/month. For that you can sell up to 10 digital products. You simply configure your account and they give you a snippet of code that you place on your website - anywhere. You can sell individual downloadable products or multiple products with a shopping cart. They provide the security, buyer emails, etc and there are a lot of payment gateway options including PayPal.

    They also have a marketplace for those who use their service so you can pick up additional sales by simply becoming an e-Junkie user. It's really simple and I have been impressed.
